Women's health, a common concern
The Association has been actively promoting women's reproductive and sexual health. Following 1996' s seminar on female reproductive and sexual health in Hong Kong, the Association set up an initiative organization to make suggestions for the development of reproductive and sexual health.
Medical service, comprehensive nursing
In order to provide more comprehensive care for women seeking medical treatment, the association has continuously expanded the scope of medical services. At present, the services include birth control guidance, premarital check-up, gynecological check-up, birth guidance, adolescent health care center, etc. In addition, the association also cooperated with several hospitals to launch hormone supplement services. In April, 1998, the association opened the pre-pregnancy physical examination service to fill the gap between marriage and pregnancy; The newly opened mobile clinic and the menopause clinic 1999 launched in May have benefited the public a lot.
Investigation and research, keep pace with the times
The Family Planning Association has been cooperating with universities in Hong Kong to carry out a number of clinical research and scientific research projects under the guidance of the World Health Organization. At the same time, we also understand the social status and needs through investigation. Apart from the "Survey on Family Planning Knowledge, Attitude and Practice in Hong Kong" and the "Study on Teenagers and Sex" which are conducted every five years, the Center also conducts similar surveys for new arrivals from the Mainland, providing reproductive and contraceptive services for newly arrived women of childbearing age.
Resource production, diversified development
The association is committed to designing and producing various resources related to sex education to meet the needs of teachers, sex educators, social workers and parents. In addition to books, the association also produces teaching packages, videos and audio tapes, among which the sex education textbook "Doll" (virtue and family) is more popular. With the rapid development of information technology, the association has also produced sex education computer CDs and sex education web pages to provide more choices for the public; The association will continue to develop resources, strengthen cooperation with publishers, expand sales targets and channels and popularize sex education.
Contact with foreign countries and integrate into the community.
The Association regularly publicizes information on family life education and its services through newspapers, television, radio, public transport, leaflets, newsletters and posters, and regularly organizes large-scale publicity activities throughout Hong Kong. In addition, the Association actively promoted family planning in grass-roots communities, and the activities of six women's clubs made the community know about family planning and women's health.
