Formative evaluation, also known as process evaluation, refers to the evaluation of educational programs or plans in the process of implementation, aiming at obtaining feedback information, understanding the progress, revealing existing problems, finding corresponding countermeasures and standardizing programs and activities.
Based on certain educational values or educational goals, it is a process of systematically collecting information, judging the value of educational phenomena and activities, promoting the improvement and development of education and realizing the value-added of education by using scientific and feasible methods and technologies.
