Hanchuan secondary vocational and technical school is a school with secondary vocational education as the main body, ordinary high school education, academic education and continuing education simultaneously. In 2005, the school was rated as "provincial key secondary vocational and technical school" by Hubei Provincial Department of Education, and was jointly commended as "advanced unit of vocational education" by seven provincial ministries and commissions in 2006.

Hanchuan Secondary Vocational and Technical School (including Hanchuan Comprehensive High School) is actively establishing national key secondary vocational schools. The school is located next to Xiannv Avenue, the main road in Hanchuan City, with convenient transportation, elegant environment and pleasant scenery. The school has more than 90 faculty members/kloc-0, more than 2,000 full-time students and 34 teaching classes, including ordinary high school classes, vocational high school classes and vocational secondary school classes. At the same time, it also undertakes the task of adult education and teacher training in the city.
