Is primary education getting better and better now, or is it getting worse?
There is no doubt that primary education is getting better and better now. To measure the quality of a school's education, we should consider the hardware facilities, teachers and students' long-term development.

First, hardware facilities. Compared with previous years, the school's hardware facilities have changed a lot. Take rural primary schools for example, the most eye-catching building in each village is the village primary school. Adobe houses may have existed more than ten years ago, but now brick-wood structures are rare and replaced by brick-concrete structures. The most obvious is the school playground. Few schools have basketball courts, and plastic venues are common, and the area basically meets the requirements of school construction.

In recent years, teachers are mainly highly educated. In previous years, primary school teachers generally graduated from normal schools, but now they are mainly undergraduates, with few junior college students. It is nothing new for graduate students to teach primary schools. The improvement of primary school teachers' educational level has a considerable relationship with the popularization of nine-year compulsory education and the expansion of university enrollment in recent years, but overall, the educational level of primary school teachers is much higher than in the past.

At present, primary school teachers are becoming more and more professional. In the past, there were few primary school teachers and heavy tasks. At this stage, teachers generally only teach their own majors, and there are fewer teachers who teach across disciplines.

Third, the long-term development of students. Compared with the development of students, the knowledge of primary school students is much better now. In addition to knowledge reserve, students are also outstanding in sound, body and beauty. Most primary school students have one specialty or another, and the level of students trained in these years is higher than before.

Why do some people think that the quality of primary schools is worse than before? The reasons may be as follows:

1. Due to the urbanization of rural population, some rural primary schools were merged, and small-scale rural schools were gradually reduced or even cancelled. Rural primary schools are short of running funds and teachers.

2. With the development of Internet, some primary school teachers rely on QQ group and WeChat group to assign homework. Students' homework has become parents' homework, so parents can look at it and give guidance, and the contradiction between home and school has intensified.

Nowadays, people are investing more and more in education, and their expectations are higher.

Compared with the past, people have more energy to look after their children's studies, and the investment in education is increasing year by year. In the past, people paid more attention to how to eat enough, but now they have to eat well besides eating enough. Especially many middle-aged people spend most of their energy on educating their children. When the input is not proportional to the return, people begin to complain about the school, the teachers and the children.
