Traditional Virtue Education Story 1: Visiting Shanzhai
20 1 year, forced by Cao Cao, Liu Bei fled to Jingzhou to take refuge in Liu Biao. Liu Biao allocated some troops to him to stay in Xinye (now Xinye County, Henan Province). As a descendant of the Han clan, Liu Bei invited the heroes and celebrities in Jingzhou to join in. With a place to stay, Liu Bei began to plan for greater development and looked around for talents who could help him make contributions.
He found a famous man named Si Mahui in Xiangyang, so he went to visit him specially. Si Mahui said? There are Wolong and Feng Chu in this area. If you can invite one of them, you can pacify the world. ? Si Mahui told Liu Bei: Wolong is Zhuge Liang, and the word is Kongming; Feng Chu's name is Pang Tong.
Xu Shu is also a local celebrity, because I heard that Liu Bei was recruiting talents, so I came to see him. Liu Bei was so happy that he left Xu Shu as his counselor. One day, Xu Shu also recommended Zhuge Liang to Liu Bei. He said that my friend Zhuge Liang, also known as Wolong, is a rare talent. The general doesn't want to see him? So Liu Bei expressed his hope to see Zhuge Liang, and hoped that Xu Shu would take Zhuge Liang with him. Xu Shu said: Only you can see a talent like Zhuge Liang. You can't just ask him to come and see you!
Originally, Liu Bei thought Xu Shu was a rare talent. Unexpectedly, Xu Shu praised Zhuge Liang so much that he realized that Zhuge Liang was more talented. So Liu Bei took Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, prepared gifts, and went to Wollongong in Longzhong to visit Zhuge Liang, asking him to come out of the mountain and help him govern the country. Unfortunately, Zhuge Liang didn't go home that day, so Liu took it.
Not discouraged, Liu Bei went to visit again after a while. It was already the middle of winter, and it suddenly began to snow halfway. Liu Bei and his party trudged through the snowstorm. Unexpectedly, they finally arrived, only to be told that Zhuge Liang had gone out with friends. Zhang Fei doesn't want to come again. Seeing that Zhuge Liang was not at home, he urged him to go back. Liu Bei had to leave a letter expressing his admiration for Zhuge Liang and asking him to come out of the mountain to help him save the country's crisis.
After hitting the wall twice in a row, Liu Bei still won't give up. After a while, he decided to visit Zhuge Liang for the third time. Guan Yu said that Zhuge Liang may exist in name only, but he may not have real talent and learning, so there is no need to go. Zhang Fei, on the other hand, advocated calling alone and tying the ground with a rope when he didn't come. Liu Bei scolded Zhang Fei and went to visit Zhuge Liang with them for the third time. When he arrived at Zhuge Liang's home, he was sleeping. Liu Bei didn't dare to disturb him, and stood under the steps until Zhuge Liang woke up.
After Zhuge Liang woke up, Liu Bei respectfully asked Zhuge Liang to come out and seek common cause. Zhuge Liang saw that Liu Bei was ambitious and sincere, so he chatted with him about the world situation. He said: At present, Cao Cao not only has more than one million troops, but also depends on the emperor as a vassal. He is the biggest warlord and can't compete with Cao Cao; Sun Quan has occupied Jiangdong for three generations, and Jiangdong has a dangerous terrain, so it can be combined with Sun Quan as foreign aid. Although Liu Biao occupied Jingzhou, he was weak and incompetent, which was a good opportunity to seize Jingzhou. Yizhou has dangerous terrain and fertile land, but the ruler Liu Zhang is fatuous. Therefore, Zhuge Liang suggested that Liu Bei take Yizhou after taking Jingzhou, then make peace with the southwest ethnic minorities, and then form an alliance with Sun Quan, so as to cultivate civilian politics and wait for an opportunity to explore the north and revive the Han Dynasty.
After listening to Zhuge Liang's thorough analysis, Liu Bei admired him deeply, so he urged Zhuge Liang to come out of the mountain and help him accomplish his great cause. Zhuge Liang saw that corporal Liu Bei was an open-minded and ambitious man, and wanted to help him, so he agreed to Liu Bei's request.
? Look after Mao Lu? This is the origin of the story. Later, when the world saw someone go to that person's home several times in person and asked his admirer to come out to help him, he quoted this sentence to describe his eagerness and sincerity. That is to say, I am not ashamed to ask questions, and I am open-minded to seek talents.
Traditional Virtue Education Story 2: Self-recommendation
Mao Sui stayed in a school in Ping Yuanjun for three years, and remained unknown, so he never had a chance to display his talents.
On one occasion, Qin attacked Zhao on a large scale, and Qin Jun surrounded Handan, the capital of Zhao. The situation was so critical that the prince of Zhao had to send Ping Yuanjun to Chu for help.
Before Ping Yuanjun went to the State of Chu, he gathered all the businessmen and decided to choose 20 knowledgeable and resourceful people from these thousands of businessmen to accompany him. They pick and choose, and finally only 19 people meet the requirements, but there is still one person missing, but they are always dissatisfied with how to choose.
At this time, I saw Mao Sui take the initiative to stand up and say: I would like to go to Chu with Ping Yuanjun, even if it is a quota! ?
When Ping Yuanjun saw it, he usually didn't pay attention to it, so he didn't take it seriously. He just said tactfully: you have been at my door for three years, but you have never heard anyone praise you in front of me, which shows that you have nothing extraordinary.
Talented people in the world are like awls in their pockets. The tip of the awl will soon break out of the pocket and people will soon find him. And you haven't been able to show your skills, how can I go to Chu with someone who has no skills to carry out such an important mission with me?
Mao sui was not angry, but he argued calmly:? What you said is not all right. The reason why I didn't drill the tip of the cone out of my pocket like an awl is because I never put it in your pocket like an awl. If I had put the awl in my pocket long ago, I dare say that not only would I have problems getting the top of the awl out of my pocket, but I would also expose the whole awl like an ear of wheat. ?
Ping Yuanjun thought what Mao Sui said was very reasonable and insightful, so he promised Mao Sui to be his entourage and rushed to Chu overnight.
When I arrived in Chu, it was already morning. Ping Yuanjun immediately went to see the king of Chu to discuss sending troops to save Zhao. However, this negotiation was not smooth. From morning till noon, there was no progress.
Faced with this situation, 19 of the 20 people who accompanied him only knew anxiety, stamped their feet, shook their heads and complained under the stage. Time waits for no one, so we won't miss this opportunity. I saw him strode onto the stage with a sword in his hand. Facing the domineering king of Chu, Mao Sui was not timid.
He stared at the king of Chu with his eyes, made a generous statement and affirmed his righteousness. He described the significance of this rescue from the perspective of the relationship between Zhao Chu and the two countries. He was moved by the reason and feelings of the King of Chu.
His awe-inspiring righteousness amazed and admired the king of Chu; His analysis of the interests of the two countries deeply touched the heart of the king of Chu. Through his persuasion, the King of Chu was finally persuaded and made a covenant with Ping Yuanjun that afternoon. Soon, the king of Chu sent troops to support Zhao, and Zhao was relieved.
Afterwards, Ping Yuanjun said with deep guilt. Mao Sui turned out to be a great man! His golden words are really worth millions of troops! But I didn't find him before. If Teacher Mao hadn't stepped forward, I would have buried a talent! ?
The story of self-recommendation tells us not to wait for others to recommend us all the time. As long as we are talented, we might as well stand up and make our due contribution.
Story 3 of traditional virtue education: Gou Jian's diligent study and hard practice
He Lv, the king of Wu, defeated Chu and became the overlord of the south. The State of Wu and the nearby State of Yue (whose capital is now Shaoxing, Zhejiang) have never been at odds. In 496 BC, Gou Jian, King of Yue, ascended the throne. The prince of Wu took advantage of the recent funeral in Yue State to send troops to crusade against Yue State. Wuyue and China are in the southwest of Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. ), there was a big war.
He Lv, the prince of Wu, thought he could win. Unexpectedly, he was defeated and seriously injured by an arrow. Besides, he is old. When he returned to Wu, he took a deep breath.
After the death of He Lv, the prince of Wu, his son Fu Cha acceded to the throne. When He Lv died, he said to Fu Cha:
? Don't forget to avenge Yue Guo. ?
Focha remembers this charge and often reminds him. When he passed the palace gate, his men shouted at the top of their voices: Focha! Have you forgotten the revenge of the king of Yue for killing his father?
Focha said with tears? No, I dare not forget. ?
He asked Wu Zixu and another minister, Ai Bo (sound pǐ), to practice military forces and prepare to attack Yue.
Two years later, Fu Cha, the king of Wu, personally led an army to attack Yue. There are two very capable doctors in Viet Nam, one is Wen Zi and the other is Fan Li (L? )。 Said to Gou Jian: Wu has been practicing for almost three years. This time, I am determined to take revenge, and it is fierce. We might as well hold the city and not fight them. ?
Gou Jian disagreed and sent troops to fight with the Wu people. The armies of the two countries fought in the Great Lakes region. The Vietnamese army was really defeated.
Gou Jian, the King of Yue, fled to Huiji with 5,000 beaten army and was besieged by Wu Jun.
Gou Jian is at his wit's end. He said to Fan Li:? Regret not listening to you and going so far. What should we do now?
Fan Li said: Let's make peace quickly. ?
Gou Jian sent Wen Zi to Wu for peace. Wen Zi said in front of Fu Cha that Gou Jian was willing to surrender. Fu Cha, the prince of Wu, wanted to agree, but Wu Zixu resolutely opposed it.
When he got back, he found that Wu was a greedy and lecherous villain, so he privately gave a batch of beautiful women and treasures, and please say a few good words in front of Fu Cha.
Fu Cha, the king of Wu, after some persuasion in front of Fu Cha, agreed to the peace of Yue despite Wu Zixu's opposition, but he wanted Gou Jian to go to Wu himself.
Wen Zi went back to report Gou Jian. Gou Jian entrusted the affairs of state to Wen Zi and came to Wu with his wife and Fan Li.
When Gou Jian arrived in Wu, Fu Cha let the couple live in a stone house next to He Lv's tomb and let Gou Jian feed the horses. Fan Li followed closely as a slave. Every time Fu Cha goes out by car, Gou Jian gives him a Lama. After two years, Fu Cha thought that Gou Jian had sincerely surrendered to him and let him go home.
When Gou Jian returned to Yue State, he was determined to avenge himself. He was afraid that the ease in front of him would kill his ambition, so he hung a gallbladder in the place where he ate. Whenever he eats, he first tastes the bitterness and asks himself: Have you forgotten the shame of that meeting? He also took off the mat and made a mattress out of straw. Is this what future generations said? Sleep on your laurel? .
Gou Jian decided to make Yue rich and strong. He personally took part in farming and let his wife weave her own cloth to encourage production. Due to the disaster of national subjugation, Yue's population decreased greatly, so he formulated a system of rewarding childbirth. He let Wen Zi manage state affairs, let Fan Li cultivate talents, listen to others' opinions with an open mind and help the poor. People all over the country are eager to make more efforts to turn this oppressed country into a powerful one.
