The history of aesthetic education is as long as the history of art and human civilization. Witchcraft in primitive society is not only the communication and dialogue between people and ghosts and gods, but also a broad aesthetic education for people's own body and mind. China's Six Arts (Ritual, Music, Shooting, Imperial, Calligraphy and Numbering) in the Zhou Dynasty brought aesthetic education into the education system for shaping human nature. As for the education in China's long history, it is mainly humanistic education, which includes the contents of Confucian classics, schools of thought contend, poems and songs, all of which have the function of aesthetic education. But for a scholar, that is, an educated person, he must also be proficient in piano, chess and calligraphy. This is a special aesthetic education. Different from the history of aesthetic education in China, the education system of Athens in ancient Greece included muse education and physical education. The former is the comprehensive study of literature and art, while the latter is the training of bodybuilding and graceful movements. Although the Middle Ages were religious times, they still used religious arts, such as architecture, sculpture, painting and music, to educate people aesthetically. Renaissance humanism advocates the cultivation of all-round and perfect people, so the subjects of education include intellectual education, aesthetic education, moral education and physical education. Music and pictures are especially important for children's education. Rousseau in 18th century France advocated natural education and opposed the compulsion of reason. He attaches importance to the role of feeling in education, especially touch, vision and hearing. Schiller's aesthetic education thought is of epoch-making significance in Germany in the18th century. He believes that when a person reaches the moral level from a natural person, he must be an aesthetic person. Aesthetics is the solution of the opposition and conflict between sensibility and rationality, and the all-round harmonious development and liberation of human nature.
