Should middle school students receive contraceptive knowledge?

This is a serious problem that seems to be sensitive, but it should not be sensitive. Everyone who really cares about the healthy growth of teenagers' body and mind should face up to the fact that middle school students are a half-baked "little adults" group, and they are faced with the confusion of early sexual physiological development and immature sexual psychology. In "stormy adolescence", some immature stamens are dying. Our interview book recorded several cases: a girl of 14 years old in the second grade of a middle school in Shanghai couldn't get over her head when she went to physical education class. The PE teacher found that her stomach was swollen and took her to the hospital for examination. As a result, she was pregnant for 9 months. A promising senior two student in a middle school in Beijing was unaware of her pregnancy for five months and was discovered by her mother. The teachers were surprised and sighed, "I didn't expect her to be like this!" " A junior high school girl in Tianjin came to Beijing to have an abortion accompanied by a "abuser". Faced with the faces distorted by pain, the doctor's censure did not leave, but he repeatedly asked for a good rest and strengthened nutrition. Everyone is worried that the girl who had an abortion in a different place has no condition to take good care of her body. ..... There are many such examples, which I believe people will hear from time to time in their lives. What's wrong with children now? Parents who know their children are helpless: they don't know where they got it, but they know more than we do. Today is different from the past. This is the children now, a half-baked "little adults" group. Their sexual and physiological development is advanced-the age of boys' first nocturnal emission and girls' menarche is 65438 04.40 years and 65438 03.04 years respectively, which is about 65438 0.5 years earlier than 50 years ago. The advance of sexual physiological development, coupled with the social environment and media sexual stimulation (hugging, kissing, playing in bed) and other reasons, lead to the phenomenon that teenagers' sexual psychological development leans forward and their sexual behavior is younger. A survey of 20,000 cases of "sexual civilization" ending with 1990 shows that the sexual intercourse rate of middle school students in China is 0.9%. According to the national statistics of 1989, there are 60 million middle school students in China, so there are over 500,000 middle school students who have had sexual intercourse. This is a huge crowd that cannot be ignored! Recently, we visited Zhang Daihua, an attending physician in the family planning department of Beijing People's Hospital. According to her, more and more people are not married. We asked her to talk, and she said, "Now all middle school students have sex, but they know nothing about contraception. Schools should do the work of parents first, and then carry out contraceptive education. In fact, it is not easy to get pregnant after the age of 23, because mature people have the ability to control. On the contrary, many people get pregnant under the age of 23. As far as I know, it is not uncommon for people below 18 to have multiple abortions. It is very important for middle school students to understand contraceptive knowledge. " Should adolescent education talk about contraceptive knowledge? It's time to discuss this problem. Opinions of experts and scholars: sex education should include contraceptive knowledge; Teenage pregnancy is more harmful than sex itself; Contraceptive knowledge should not only be taught in junior high school. Wu Jieping (Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress, a famous physician): Contraceptive knowledge should be part of adolescent education. Don't give people such a misunderstanding when teaching-sex doesn't matter, as long as you don't get pregnant. Zhu Yaohua (Director of Science and Technology Department of National Family Planning Commission): Let middle school students know about ovulation and safe period. When you talk about fertility principles, you can talk about pregnancy mechanism, contraceptive principles and methods. Unmarried people of childbearing age and middle school students can use condoms. They are safe and cheap, and they can also avoid sexually transmitted diseases. Underage girls should not take oral contraceptives. Middle school students should be told some remedial measures, such as using family visiting contraceptives afterwards, detecting pregnancy after 3 days, drug abortion in early pregnancy, early induced abortion and so on. From the perspective of the whole society, reducing teenage pregnancy is the mainstream, and individuals may try, but this is a personal problem. Don't deny the overall effect with individual phenomena. In this regard, we should learn from the advanced experience of other countries, break the old concept and take contraceptive knowledge as the knowledge about "people" that middle school students should accept and teach them. Pan Suiming (Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, Renmin University of China): For teenagers, teenage pregnancy is more harmful than sex itself. Teenage pregnancy not only harms girls' health, but also makes boys lose their sense of responsibility, because abandoning pregnant girls is the only choice for boys. /kloc-Girls over 0/4 years old have the right to sexual commitment, but we should educate them that sexual commitment does not mean commitment to pregnancy and childbirth. Liu Dalin (sociologist and main organizer of 20,000 cases of "sexual civilization" in China): Since middle school students have sexual behavior, it is better to tell them scientific contraceptive knowledge so that they can control themselves and protect themselves. Li Yinhe (Sociologist): Advanced foreign experience should be introduced, and the experience of contraceptive education should also be included. We should follow international practice. Ma Xiaonian (Associate Research Fellow, Research Institute, National Family Planning Commission): Contraceptive knowledge should not be taught only in junior high schools, because the number of people entering senior high schools only accounts for 1/3 of the total number of junior high schools, and the rest have flowed into society in large quantities, so they will never have the opportunity to receive such education again. Chen Yijun (expert in marriage and family counseling, director of China, Economics and Family Science Center): At present, it may be unacceptable for teachers and parents to talk about contraception directly. But we can be more subtle from the perspective of caring about the girl's body, psychology and future. For example, adolescent education, when it comes to the birth of life, shows what to do if you don't want to be a parent. Zhang Yingjie (President of Beijing Maternity Hospital): Contraceptive education is available in developed countries, and it is very open. The national conditions are different, so China is talking about whether it can be "artistic". Generally speaking, the advantages of contraceptive knowledge outweigh the disadvantages. Li (an expert in obstetrics and gynecology at Beijing People's Hospital): Middle school students are active in sexual behavior. Can you tell boys more about contraception? Nowadays, people are quite lacking in contraceptive knowledge. According to our preliminary statistics, nearly half of the people who have had induced abortion have not taken any contraceptive measures. Teachers and parents said: it is better to increase several sexual behaviors and reduce teenage pregnancy; To talk about contraceptive knowledge, don't give up eating because of choking; It should be said that we are only worried about the side effects. Min (Beijing Education Bureau): Teaching contraceptive knowledge is a dilemma, but we should have more advantages than disadvantages, that is, we would rather increase some sexual behaviors and reduce teenage pregnancy. Wu Qin (Director of the Political and Educational Affairs Office of the High School Attached to Tsinghua University): It is imperative to teach contraceptive knowledge to precocious middle school students. Our education also continues the traditional way of "no", "transfer" and "sublimation", and we dare not face up to the reality. Let's not do stupid things because we choke on food. Tong Qingcun (principal and senior teacher of Erlong Road Middle School in Beijing): In recent years, sexual behavior among middle school students has occurred from time to time, but it is still a minority. It is better not to talk about it now, and it will be more natural to talk about it when the problem is more common. Teacher Qi (the head teacher of Class Two in a middle school in Beijing): After the adolescent education in our school, the phenomenon of "puppy love" has decreased. I think we can talk about some contraceptive principles in combination with biology class, such as flower pollination and fish fertilization, and so can students. Don't talk about specific methods, doesn't that mean abetting? Teacher Wang (head teacher of Grade One in a middle school in Beijing): It should be, but we are worried about the side effects. A person in charge of the State Education Commission: I'm just talking about my personal opinion. The phenomenon of teenage pregnancy is not prominent in China. There are some contents about population control in the textbook Population Education for senior high schools (about 500 words, such as avoiding the combination of sperm and eggs-author's note). Therefore, positive education should be given priority to students in schools. The focus of foreign sex education is contraception, and the focus of our country should be to prevent "puppy love". Teaching contraceptive knowledge can be done individually, but don't talk about contraceptive methods, middle school students can't adapt. There are many kinds of education in society, and schools may not be all-inclusive. The principle of youth education in China is moderation, moderation and timeliness. The author also visited some parents, and their views are similar to those of Teacher Otawa. Parents who advocate contraceptive knowledge say that it is not necessarily scientific for schools to know without telling. Therefore, it is better to say than not to say. Parents who do not advocate contraceptive knowledge are mainly worried about side effects. Whether they know a little about contraception or know nothing about it, whether they are senior one or senior three, whether they are ordinary middle schools or key middle schools, dozens of middle school students interviewed by the author hope to acquire contraceptive knowledge and sexual knowledge at school. In interviews with several middle schools in Beijing, the author found that there are some problems in adolescent education. So far, there are no unified textbooks and special textbooks in China, and there is no unified requirement in Beijing. The content of adolescent education curriculum varies from school to school. Some schools limit the content of adolescent sex education to "physical hygiene". Most of the videos I watched in a middle school were about biology. In order to pursue the enrollment rate and reduce the class hours of "adolescent education", some key middle schools simply don't offer this course. There is also a phenomenon of contempt for this course in ordinary middle schools. The author visited several middle schools in Beijing, and obviously felt that students in key middle schools are better than those in ordinary middle schools, and boys are better than girls. There are three girls in senior three in ordinary middle schools. I don't know if the pill is male or female, but one or two girls are tall. I don't know whether condoms are used by men or women. Five girls in grade three of a key middle school in a certain district didn't know they might be pregnant after being raped. Boys are relatively better, but not comprehensive. Their contraceptive knowledge is learned from TV, movies, magazines and family planning bulletin boards. To the author's surprise, dozens of middle school students interviewed by the author, whether they know contraceptive knowledge or not, whether they are senior one or senior three, whether they are ordinary middle schools or key middle schools, hope to acquire contraceptive knowledge and sexual knowledge at school. Wu Liang, a senior three student in Beijing No.13 Middle School, especially emphasized to the author: Teachers always think that we are children who need to be disciplined. Most of our senior three students are 19 years old. They are adults and have the ability to restrain their behavior. We won't experiment just because the school tells us to use contraception. In fact, we know something now, and it has not led to any consequences. Younger age of induced abortion is a trend in recent years, especially for girls who have joined the work after graduating from junior high school. They are "high-risk groups" for teenage pregnancy. According to the statistics of Heilongjiang Province, only half of the 6,543,800 junior high school students in the province can go to high school, and the rest 500,000 go to the society. 500,000 yuan in a province, how much is the whole country? A large number of teenagers who don't know any contraceptive knowledge flood into society, which not only brings teenage pregnancy and unmarried pregnancy, but also brings difficulties to family planning work (especially in rural areas) and STD prevention and control, which greatly increases the social burden. The question of whether middle school students should accept contraceptive knowledge is actually whether China's nine-year compulsory education should bear the responsibility of complete sex education. It seems that this problem should really arouse people's serious thinking.
