Hunan First Normal College is located in Yuelu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province.

The college was formerly known as Chengnan Academy founded by Zhang Qian in the Southern Song Dynasty, and 1903 was established as Hunan Normal College. 19 12 and 19 14 were successively changed to Hunan public first normal school and Hunan provincial first normal school, and were renamed Hunan first normal school after liberation. In March 2000, it was upgraded to a normal college. In April 2008, it was upgraded to a normal college and renamed Hunan First Normal College. 20 14 was selected as an excellent teacher training program for universities.

As of 20 18, the school is characterized by normal education, including Chengnan Academy Campus and Dongfanghong Campus, covering an area of 1346 mu. The school has 12 teaching colleges and 3 1 undergraduate majors.
