Distinguish and appreciate

After Li Bai arrived at the Wang Yong Lilin shogunate, he was full of ambition, thinking that he could express his ambition, "strive for his wisdom and help him" and become an all-powerful figure like Xie An. In this group of poems, the poet praised the trip to Yong, but also expressed his ambition.

Chapter one begins. It is said that Wang Yong was ordered by Tian Zi to set up a patrol in the east. There were righteous teachers everywhere, and it was a peaceful scene.

Chapter two: The poet claimed that he hoped to break through the enemy in a leisurely way like Xie An when the country was in great trouble. This poem has excellent artistic conception and ups and downs. In the first two sentences, the poet wrote that there are many fierce rebels and the victims of the country are very difficult and dangerous, but the purpose is to set off the author's grand plan in the second two sentences. The more severe the situation is, the more it shows its patriotic enthusiasm and ambition to "sweep away the sandstorm"; The more tense the atmosphere is, the more you will see its calm spirit of "saving the day". This contrasting pen enhances the power of poetry.

The third chapter is about military capabilities and great momentum. Military discipline is strict and there are signs of victory. From Wuchang to Jiujiang, and then to the third five, all the way eastward, sweeping.

Chapter IV Imagine or hope that Lin will enter Jinling and bring warmth and light to the people of Jinling. In the first sentence, Jinling wins in its shape, and it has been the land of emperors since ancient times. The second sentence states that Bing Wang will go to Jinling forever. In three or four sentences, Zhaoyang Hall and Magpie House refer to Jinling, with spring breeze symbolizing warmth and bright moon symbolizing light.

The fifth chapter says that when the country is in danger, the monarch and his subjects are helpless, and only Wang Yong will send troops to the East. The first two sentences capture a scene after the fall of the capital, highlight the grim situation faced by the Tang Dynasty at that time, and express their grief and hatred for what happened in front of them and the broad masses of the people. In the last two sentences, the poet criticized the generals who let the East fall in order to preserve their strength in the face of the rebel attack, and highly praised Wang Yong's heroic behavior of recovering the country from afar.

The sixth chapter talks about the dangerous terrain and picturesque scenery of Danyang. Wang Yong's troops are stationed on both sides of the Yangtze River, extending to the seaside. These are all words of imagination or encouragement. In fact, Li Lin's military strength only reached Danyang in the east.

The seventh chapter is about the powerful navy under the leadership of Wang Yong. The first two sentences say that sailors are widely distributed, and the last two sentences say that warriors are mighty.

The eighth chapter describes that the navy moved the sea and tilted the mountains with the momentum of long winds and waves, just like the master of Wang Zhuolou in the Jin Dynasty broke Wu.

Chapter 9 compares Wang Yong to Emperor Taizong, surpassing Qin Huang and Hanwu. It is neither fish nor fowl, and it is out of harmony with the other ten poems. This may be the harvest of the people in Wang Yong shogunate, which provided Wang Yong with a charge of intentionally competing for the throne. So the predecessors thought it was forged.

Chapter 10 is about Wang Yong's defence of its territory under the orders of Tian Zi, covering a wide range. Enter Chu Pass, clear Jianghan, from Yunmeng to Jinling. This is an exaggeration. In fact, Li Lin's military forces have not yet arrived in Jinling.

In the last chapter, the poet hopes that Wang Yong can give him military command. He is confident that he can strategize like Sean, Zhuge Liang or Xie An, win a thousand miles, convince the rebellious conference semifinals to take orally, obey the command, completely eliminate the rebellion, and then make a perfect account to the court. This poem uses romantic imagination and symbolism to shape the heroic self-image of the world.

The poet's passion for the motherland and the people and his yearning for peace in his poems are positive and worthy of recognition. His ignorance of the political trend is objective, and it is impossible to make a correct judgment with his identity and experience. The second and last poem in the group shows that he wants to be a Confucian general like Xie An and Zhuge Liang. It is unrealistic and even naive to plan and calmly meet the enemy and win thousands of miles. This idea is reflected in many of his poems. He always wanted to be as successful as Fan Li and go boating in the five lakes. Just like Lu Zhonglian, it's worth a thousand dollars if you don't succeed. Although these ambitions can't be realized, they have made his heroic and romantic poetic style and earth-shattering and popular poems. The exaggeration and imagination in some parts of the poems do not conform to the historical facts, one is encouragement, the other is exaggeration, which conforms to the principle of literary creation.

Creation background

This group of poems is considered to be the first month of Tang Suzong's second year (757). At that time, Li Bai and Navy Li Lin went to find Yang (Xunyang). This poem, Song Ben, says: "Yongwangjun." This group of Dong Wandering Songs in Wang Yong was produced during the shogunate of Wang Yong.

Li Bai?

In order to distinguish himself from two other poets, Li Shangyin and Du Mu, that is, "Little Du Li", Du Fu and Li Bai were also called together.
