Guimao Academic System divides ethnic schools into two categories: basic education and specialized vocational education.

China is the first systematic school system promulgated by the state and implemented nationwide in modern times. 1904 (30th year of Guangxu in Qing dynasty) 65438+ 10/3 promulgated by the Qing government. Because it was formulated and promulgated in the year of Guimao in the old calendar, it is also called "Guimao academic system".

Guimao Academic System systematically divides ethnic schools into two categories: basic education and specialized vocational education. Basic education is divided into three levels and seven levels: primary education includes foster families (equivalent to today's kindergartens), primary schools and higher primary schools, secondary education is middle schools, and higher education includes institutions of higher learning (undergraduate), university halls (master's degrees) and Confucian schools (doctors).

Specialized vocational education is divided into three types: normal education, industrial education and special education:

Normal schools have primary schools and excellent teachers. Industrial education includes apprentice schools (technical schools), ordinary industrial remedial schools (on-the-job education for workers), agricultural and industrial primary schools (technical secondary schools), agricultural and industrial secondary schools (junior colleges), agricultural and industrial colleges (universities) and industrial teachers' workshops (engineering teachers). Special education includes Jinshi Hall (cadre education) and translation school (foreign language education).

Because Guimao Academic System comprehensively refers to the educational systems of various countries, the framework design not only grasps the laws of modern education, but also conforms to the actual situation in China. Therefore, although there are many educational reforms in later generations, the framework of the education system has not changed much so far except that the name has changed and the number and types have become richer.
