1957 graduated from department of mechanical engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing. He used to be the vice chairman of Beijing Engineering Graphics Higher Education Research Association and the second CAE Research Association of Tsinghua University. At present, he is a professor in the Department of Precision Instruments and Machinery in Tsinghua University, and concurrently serves as the director of the teaching committee of the department. He has been engaged in the teaching and research of descriptive geometry and mechanical drawing for 40 years, which has made valuable contributions to educating students' thinking and developing their thinking ability, especially their creative thinking ability. He has published many high-level papers, such as "Reforming teaching methods, developing creative thinking" and "Giving full play to the educational role of drawing teaching". He presided over the research on computer-aided teaching of cartography, and successively developed a variety of teaching courseware such as Intersection Line and Intersection Line. Among them, Intercept Line 1994 courseware won the third prize of the first excellent software of computer-aided instruction in China (it was the only courseware in the field of graphics in colleges and universities at that time), and edited teaching materials such as Mechanical Drawing, Mechanical Drawing Problem Set and Mechanical Basis. The main translation work is Mechanical Drawing by Sue Frolov and others. In recognition of his outstanding contributions in teaching and educating people, teaching reform and research on teaching methods, he has successively won the first prize of Tsinghua University's teaching reform, the first prize of Tsinghua University's outstanding teaching achievement, Beijing's advanced worker in teaching and educating people, Beijing's outstanding teacher and Beijing's patriotic meritorious model, and enjoyed special allowances from the State Council.
