What is an environmental education plan?
Environmental education projects are dedicated to raising public awareness of ecological protection; Stimulate the community's pride in local natural and cultural resources; Strengthen the participation of community people in local ecological environment protection; Cooperate and support other projects of the association. The work carried out by the environmental education project includes:

Northwest Yunnan Green Tourism Promotion Center. The project of Northwest Yunnan Green Tourism Promotion Center is a public welfare project jointly implemented by Old Town of Lijiang Protection Administration and the Nature Conservancy of the United States with the support of General Motors and Cargill. The project aims to arouse the public's awareness of caring for and protecting the ecological environment and national culture in northwest Yunnan by showing the rich biodiversity and national cultural diversity in northwest Yunnan. Explore effective ways to integrate environmental education, popular science education, patriotism education and national culture education into tourism experience; Guide the public to choose green tourism mode and participate in environmental protection activities. The promotion center was officially opened to the public on May 6, 2005.

Proud environmental education. This project cooperates with the Rare Center of American non-governmental environmental protection organization, and together with government departments, schools and local communities, carries out a proud environmental education project in Laojun Mountain with Yunnan golden monkey as a symbolic species and pride as the promotion of environmental protection concept. The demonstration phase of the project was carried out from September 2003 to June 2006. The demonstration sites are Shitou Township and Liming Township in Laojunshan area and villages near the habitat of Yunnan golden monkey. After the demonstration project, the scope of the project was extended to other major habitats of Yunnan golden monkey.

Sustainable development education in schools. The sustainable education project uses school education to integrate the goals of nature protection, social justice, moderate development and community participation into the personal missions of teachers and students. Its overall goal is to consolidate the ecological protection achievements made by communities and associations in the northwest Yunnan project area. The project not only helps local rural teachers improve their teaching level, but also tries to alleviate various threats faced by the protected objects. From June 5th to February, 2002, Yunnan Provincial Forestry Department, Lijiang and Yulong Education Bureaus, Forestry Bureau, Environmental Protection Bureau, Lashihai Wetland Nature Reserve Administration, local schools and other partners worked out the syllabus according to the specific conditions and locations of different schools. One of the contents is to educate children to care about all life, explore the sustainable use of energy without destroying nature, and publicize their achievements by making a teaching diary of "Little Earth Assistant" for teachers and students.
