Emperor Kangxi is such a "young hero". He served as a military commander all his life, ascended the throne at the age of 8, and took power at the age of 14. During his reign, he captured Ao Bai, pacified San Francisco, recovered Taiwan Province Province, and expelled Russia, thus creating the prosperous time of Kangxi. He is an out-and-out hero emperor in the eyes of future generations, and some scholars even call him "the emperor of the ages".
Kangxi has always acted steadily, and he is used to big waves and sand. He won't lose his manners when dealing with ordinary things. But that's it. Emperor Kangxi, who was a literary talent and was slightly composed, put down his glass in shock at the first sight of his grandson Gan Long, then Li Hongshi.
Why was Emperor Kangxi so shocked? What is the charm of young Li Hong? What did Emperor Kangxi think of this grandson?
1722 March, that is, in the spring of the sixty-first year of Kangxi, in the Yuanmingyuan, the residence of Yin Zhen, the fourth son of Kangxi, after the spring rain, flowers blossomed, colorful and particularly beautiful.
Among them, peony, known as the richest flower in the world, is delicate and charming. Knowing that Kangxi was partial to peonies, Yin Zhen invited Kangxi to the Yuanmingyuan to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and met him at the Peony Terrace in Louyue Garden. Father and son enjoyed the flowers and had a good time with their entourage.
After enjoying the flowers, Yin Zhen hosted a banquet in the Peony Pavilion for Kangxi. During the dinner, Kangxi and his son were in a good mood. During the dinner, Yin Zhen called Li Hong out and bowed to Emperor Kangxi.
Twelve-year-old Li Hong is very beautiful and looks like her. Although Kangxi had never met this grandson, his first impression of Li Hong was very good. Li Hong studied like a child and recited all kinds of poems skillfully during the dinner. Hearing this, Kangxi happily put down his glass and ordered Li Hong to go to self-study together.
Twelve-year-old Li Hong left home with Kangxi, and now it is time for people to take care of her daily life. Kangxi loved Li Hong very much, so he asked his trusted imperial concubine Tong Jiashi and Princess Guayiding to take care of Li Hong. The two concubines took care of Li Hong wholeheartedly. Li Hong also felt the love from her two grandmothers. Her heart was full of gratitude and she never forgot them when she grew up. Not only in life, but also in study, Kangxi paid great attention to Li Hong.
In his spare time, Kangxi often taught Li Hong to read, write and practice martial arts, and Li Hong was also willing to learn. When studying, Kangxi asked Li Hong to recite and explain Zhou Dunyi's "Love Lotus Theory". To our surprise, Li Hong not only knew it by heart, but also explained it very accurately. This cleverness of Li Hong made Kangxi very happy.
At the same time, Kangxi asked the princes who were good at archery and firearms to teach Li Hong how to shoot arrows and use firearms, which showed that Kangxi was particularly fond of this grandson.
Kangxi likes Li Hong very much and often takes him hunting. Once in the Yong 'an Mangka paddock, Kangxi knocked down a bear and asked Li Hong to watch it. As a result, the bear suddenly jumped up and pounced on Li Hong. Li Hong immediately calmly grabbed the reins of the horse and dodged. As soon as Kangxi saw it, he immediately knocked the bear down with a musket. Afterwards, Kangxi praised Li Hong's composure and said, "My life is precious, and my blessings are to be reported." This shows the importance of Li Hong to Kangxi.
Kangxi made numerous achievements in his life, but it was difficult to establish a prince in his later years. At first, Yin Yong, the second son of Kangxi at the age of two, was appointed as the Crown Prince. When I was a child, Yin Yong was smart and eager to learn. As an adult, he did something promising to help Kangxi supervise the country and manage the government. Kangxi also worked hard to cultivate him.
Every time he goes out to patrol the palace or hunt, he is told to follow around and both sides are carefully taught. Unfortunately, the Yin people were abolished because of the crime of "illegal ancestor", which was thirty-three years after the establishment of the Prince.
At that time, the prince was abandoned in Bulhasutai in Mulan paddock. On the day when the prince abandoned his son, eighteen sons of Kangxi died during the inspection. Two sons died on the same day, one died and the other was abandoned. As a father, Kangxi was heartbroken and deeply hit.
In the second year of being abolished, the prince was reinstated, but only three years later, the prince was abolished for the second time. During the abolition of the Prince, there was intrigue among princes and intrigue among brothers.
In the battle for the throne, Yin Gui, the eldest son of Kangxi, and Yin Si, the eighth son, were imprisoned for life, and the courtiers colluded with each other, which made the court restless. At that time, Kangxi was about to turn 70, and he was very sad in the face of this situation. He said, "I am sixty years old this year. How many days will I know?"
Telling the helplessness at that time. He was supposed to be enjoying his family, but he was disturbed by the establishment of the prince. Kangxi was really disappointed.
It was in this case that Yongzheng set up a bureau to let Kangxi see Li Hong. For Kangxi at that time, Li Hong was a bright color in his gloomy old age, adding hope and fun to life.
Here with Li Hong and his son, Kangxi felt the family happiness of his children and grandchildren around their knees, and he also loved Yin Zhen. Even when talking about princes, he said, "Only four brothers were brought up by relatives. When they were young, they felt a little uncertain, and they were able to be soul mates, love each other and be sincere and filial. "
Kangxi's preference for Li Hong includes both feelings for his grandchildren and expectations for Li Hong's future. Yongzheng said in the letter of succession: "Li Hong, the fourth son of Taizibao, is kind in nature and filial. Among all the grandchildren, Emperor Saint Zuren loved him the most and promoted him to his palace, thinking more than usual ... Now he has suffered a great event and inherited my throne, that is, the emperor's throne. "
This straightforward statement is enough to show Kangxi's emphasis on Li Hong and his desire to let him succeed.
After following Kangxi, Li Hong followed Kangxi to visit the Great Wall for the last time and went to Jehol Summer Resort. This time, Kangxi not only affirmed Li Hong, but also affirmed his mother.
In the villa, Li Hong was arranged by Kangxi to live in Wanhe Songfeng Palace Jianzhizhai and live with Kangxi. The grandparents and grandchildren can meet every day, and Li Hong's daily academic achievements and questions can also be discussed and shared with Kangxi at any time. The affection between grandparents and grandchildren is getting deeper and deeper.
Kangxi paid more and more attention to Li Hong. In the villa, Kangxi will let Li Hong accompany him when dealing with government affairs, and let Li Hong stand beside him when summoning ministers, hoping that Li Hong will learn some court etiquette.
Sometimes Kangxi would let Li Hong practice archery in front of his ministers, and Li Hong was often shot repeatedly. Ministers praised Li Hong for his outstanding learning ability since he was a child. He is really a talent. Kangxi was glad to see that Li Hong was affirmed by ministers.
While Kangxi was enjoying the scenery by boat in the villa, he came to Qingbi Pavilion and stopped Li Hong. When Li Hong heard it, he ran quickly along the path to his grandfather. Kangxi was happy and worried, and quickly said, "Don't run, walk slowly."
Love for grandchildren cannot be expressed in words. Kangxi watched Li Hong grow up slowly, never forgetting to teach him to care for and respect his parents, and often let him visit his parents in the Lion Park. Under the example of Kangxi, Li Hong made progress day by day and was recognized and appreciated by Kangxi and court officials.
Seeing that Li Hong was so earnest and eager to learn, Kangxi felt that he had great prospects in the future, and he came up with the idea of meeting Li Hong's biological mother.
So, when Yin Zhen invited Kangxi to hold a banquet, Kangxi took Li Hong with him. During the dinner, Kangxi pointed to Li Hong and said to Fujin Urnala of Yin Zhen, "Bring his birth mother." Li Hong's biological mother was Niulu, then a young aunt in Yin Zhen. Her status is very low, and she can't see the emperor at ordinary times.
After seeing the emperor, Niu Zhilu took his time and gave Kangxi a big gift generously and politely. Kangxi was very surprised to see this. He couldn't help saying to Niu Lulu, "Blessed people."
This not only fully expresses the affirmation of Li Hong's biological mother, but also sends a signal to Li Hong and others: although the status of Niu Lu is humble, she is polite, calm and restrained, and deserves respect from others.
During this trip to the summer resort, Kangxi gave Li Hong great confidence, made him believe in his own abilities, and at the same time made him realize that his mother's status would not affect him. Only when he has a strong ability will he be patronized by others.
After the death of Yongzheng, Li Hong, who was only 25 years old, succeeded to the throne with the title of Qianlong. Since then, Qianlong has inherited Kangxi's thought, not only expanding the summer resort, but also building a large number of Tibetan Buddhist temples.
When Qianlong ascended the throne, the territory was not yet unified, and he wanted to complete Kangxi's "unfinished business" and realize national reunification. So, slowly, with the visit of foreign envoys, the summer resort gradually became a place to entertain foreign envoys.
When the villa was expanded, Qianlong was modeled after Kangxi, but it also reflected a different side from Kangxi.
Different from Kangxi's elegant and simple architectural style, Qianlong preferred rich and gorgeous decoration, so Qianlong rebuilt the main hall of the villa-Lianbo Jingcheng Hall with golden nanmu. The Buddhist temples outside the mountain villa also use a large number of gold-plated processes to show their respect. Most of the temples face the summer resort, which means that the stars arch the moon and all rivers run into the sea.
The expansion of the summer resort is not only related to political factors, but also to Qianlong's yearning for Kangxi. In the process of expanding the summer resort, Qianlong tried to imitate Kangxi's ideological style and behavior.
For example, Kangxi set up 36 scenes in the villa, all of which were nominated by four words; Ganlong Sanyan nominated 36 scenes. Kangxi built a pine crane tower for his mother in the villa "respecting filial piety"; Gan Long built Song Hezhai for his mother in the village. It can be seen that Qianlong's exemplary role in Kangxi has reached an unbounded level.
Kangxi attached great importance to farming. He advocated that farming should be combined with other countries in the world. He set an example for everyone in the villa, opened up farmland and planted a variety of crops.
He farmed by himself. After years of farming, he planted a lot of rice in the villa. Even though he is nearly seventy years old, he still "studies and cultivates with a stick, and watches the harvest near the bed." Kangxi's farming activities in the villa not only set an example for ministers and people, but also profoundly influenced Qianlong.
When Qianlong was a child, influenced by Kangxi, he planted a small vegetable field in the garden to urge eunuchs to farm and experience farming activities. After Qianlong succeeded to the throne, he inherited Kangxi's thought of attaching importance to agriculture, and always advocated: "The emperor's way of governing the country should not be based on loving the people, but the way of loving the people should be based on farming and mulberry, which is a hard-won experience through the ages."
He understands that farming depends on the sky for food, and even built a Lecheng Pavilion in the villa to worship farming, pinning his desire for a bumper harvest on the sky.
Li Hong remembered Kangxi's kindness all his life. He remembers that when he ran too fast on the mountain road, his grandfather would tell him to walk slowly; He remembers grandpa's careful teaching and care, educating him to honor his parents and giving them the income from catching fish and hunting;
He still remembers that every time he travels, his grandfather will take himself with him, and he will also let himself watch his grandfather handle government affairs; He still remembers that his grandfather said that his mother was a blessed person. All the kindness, Qianlong is in mind.
Ganlong also attached great importance to meeting his grandfather for the first time. He once said in a poem: "When I was twelve years old, I respectfully asked my ancestors to be a garden during the imperial examination. I've made a special order to wait on the clouds. " This is the first time that Li Hong has been favored by his grandfather, which shows that Qianlong regards this matter as one of the most important events in his life. At the same time, Qianlong mentioned this matter many times in his poems, which shows the importance of this matter to Qianlong, and Qianlong's gratitude to his grandfather began.
After Qianlong succeeded to the throne, in order to thank his grandfather Kangxi for his kindness, he nominated Wanhe Songfengtang, who lived in the summer resort as a child, as "Grace Cathedral" to commemorate his grandfather's kindness. Wanhe Songfengtang is set in the pine forest, which is patchwork and very quiet and elegant. It is one of Kangxi's residences and offices in the summer resort.
Kangxi really doted on Li Hong and arranged for him to live here.
When Qianlong visited the summer resort at the age of 70, he remembered that when his grandfather was nearly 70 years old, he carved a small seal that said, "Don't quit".
From this incident, Qianlong remembered that Kangxi's thought was people-oriented, and he also thought of himself. "Thanks to God, everything goes well. Now, he is 70 years old, and he is not enough. Dare to take the ring of the emperor's ancestors as a warning! " So he ordered people to build a "Jiede Hall" in the lake to commemorate his grandfather.
Among more than 30 emperors' grandchildren, Li Hong met Kangxi through the introduction of Yongzheng, and made Kangxi shine with his calm and studious personality and talent, and finally got Kangxi's love.
Li Hong's experience makes us understand that a person's success is inseparable from two factors: one is opportunity, the other is hard work, and both are indispensable. Only by working hard at ordinary times can we seize the opportunity and fight a beautiful turnaround when the opportunity comes.
At the same time, the relationship between the grandparents and grandchildren of Qianlong and Kangxi also moved us. Whether in good times or bad times, whether in the past or in the future, there is one thing that we can't give up-the simplest and most sincere emotion.
He will bring us warmth and comfort, help us in adversity and give us hope; Being in prosperity will also add icing on the cake, let us share happiness with others. So, let's learn to cherish these precious emotions in life!
