Wanzhou No.5 Middle School is now Wanzhou Shanghai Middle School. Chongqing Wanzhou Shanghai Middle School, referred to as "Shanghai Middle School" and "Shanghai Middle School", is located at No.298, Shanghai Avenue, Wuqiao Immigrant New Town, Wanzhou District. Shanghai Middle School was formerly Yuquan Private School (commonly known as Wanzhou No.5 Middle School); Yuquan private school was founded on 1945 by Mr. Yang Jifu, a famous educator and poet. The original school belongs to the second phase of the Three Gorges Project, with a water level of 126 meters. 1August 1998, the school moved to No.298, Shanghai Avenue, Baianba, and changed its name to "Wanzhou Shanghai Middle School in Chongqing".
