Jiangsu Zhangjiagang No.1 Vocational Education Lieutenant Colonel is the first batch of national key vocational schools in Zhangjiagang.

1980 established classes, 1984 established schools, 1988 established national key vocational schools, 1994 established zhangjiagang secondary specialized schools, 1996 established the first batch of national key vocational high schools, and 1998 established the first batch of provincial vocational center schools.

The school offers CNC, electromechanical, machinery, auto repair, computer, accounting, chemical engineering, clothing, marketing, electrical automation, business English and other majors, among which electromechanical, computer and accounting are provincial demonstration majors, while clothing, CNC and electronics are Suzhou demonstration majors. The school has been designated as the experimental point of electromechanical technology application and computer application specialty in vocational education curriculum reform by the Provincial Department of Education.

In 2003, the school library was rated as a provincial library. In 2004, the school was recognized by the Ministry of Education and other six ministries and commissions as the national training base for skilled talents in numerical control technology application, and cooperated with TAFE College in Sydney, southwest New South Wales, Australia.

In 2006, Jiangsu Yang Zijiang Vocational Education Group was established, and was awarded the National Vocational Skills Appraisal Institute and the National Spark Program Spark School for Farmers' Science and Technology Training.
