Sex education in Japan is conducted through three channels.
One is the education system directly under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, which focuses on health care and conducts sex education through courses, moral education and some special activities.
Second, non-governmental organizations, among which Japan Sex Education Association was the first to carry out activities; Recently, the activities of the "People and Sex" Education Research Association have also been fruitful. In addition, Health Club magazine also played a great role.
The third is the research activities of academic groups.
I conducted a survey in cooperation with others. The subjects of investigation are parents and teachers of primary school students. The survey results show what kind of sex education parents want their children to receive:
The contents of sex education that parents of primary school students hope the school will carry out are as follows:
First, educate children to respect life;
Second, educate children to be polite;
Third, teach children the knowledge of physiological development;
Fourth, educate children to understand the relationship between parents and children;
Fifth, educate children not to laugh at others and swear;
Sixth, cultivate children's sense of cooperation between men and women;
Seven, let the children know how the baby was born;
Eight, guide children to correctly treat the sex scenes in TV movies;
Nine, cultivate children's sense of cooperation with their families;
Ten, teach children how to take a bath and how to use the toilet, let children pay attention to the cleanliness of underwear.
The contents of sex education for parents of primary school students in grade three or four are:
First, educate children to respect life;

Sixth, cultivate children's sense of cooperation between men and women;

Through the above survey results, it can be found that parents of primary school students most want the school to teach respect for life, followed by attaching great importance to polite education and parent-child relationship, and attaching importance to the sense of cooperation between men and women and the way of communication between men and women. In addition, it is hoped that the school will guide students to correctly view the sexual scenes in TV, movies, magazines and picture books, and that the school will teach students how to prevent sexual violence. A survey of primary school class teachers also shows that junior teachers pay more attention to educating children to use toilets correctly, be polite, develop good habits of washing hands, pay attention to the cleanliness of underwear and other basic living habits, and at the same time pay attention to educating children to respect life.
Teachers in the third and fourth grades of primary school attach importance to correcting students' indecent behavior, educating children to respect life and teaching physiological development knowledge. Senior class teachers attach importance to cultivating children's sense of cooperation between men and women, teaching children psychological differences between men and women, physiological development knowledge and how to deal with menstruation. In the late 1960s, the women's liberation movement and the tide of sexual openness appeared in the United States, which led to an increase in the pregnancy of girls under the age of 20, an increase in the number of middle and high school dropouts, the spread of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases, an increase in divorcees, a marked decline in the educational function of families, an increase in the crime rate and a deterioration in social security.
According to recent statistics, there are about 1200 murders, 1500 rapes and 30,000 violent cases in Japan within one year. These figures in the United States are more than 10 times that of Japan. The annual number of pregnant girls under the age of 20 in the United States is about 6.5438+0 million, and that in Japan is about 20,000. Recently, sex education in some places in Japan tends to focus on sex organ education and sexual intercourse education, which deviates from the original purpose.
