Analysis:
Dashilaner is the oldest, most famous and unique ancient market and bustling commercial downtown area in Beijing. The street starts from Qianmen Street in the east and ends at Meishi Street in the west, with a total length of nearly 300 meters. The street is narrow, with shops and businesses on both sides, and people are busy all day. In the old days, there was a reputation of "the essence of the capital is here, so lively and prosperous" and "where there are bustling streets, you can go to Dashilan for a stroll". Within the range of 1.26 square kilometers, a large number of primitive ancient buildings are preserved. These ancient buildings and their "past events south of the city" are important cultural treasures and resources of the ancient capital Beijing.
The origin of Beijing Dashilan
Dashilan Street, formerly known as the Four-Gallery House, has a history of nearly 500 years. Dashilan, located in the center of ancient Beijing, is an important part of the south central axis and has always been a bustling commercial district in history.
The origin of this street can be traced back to the first year of Xiaozhong Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty. There was a small class in Beijing at that time. In order to prevent thieves from hiding in the streets and lanes, with the approval of the DPRK, wooden fences have been built at many street intersections in Beijing. According to the imperial edicts of the Qing Dynasty, there were 440 outer city fences approved in Yongzheng seven years, 19 19 in Qianlong/kloc-8 years, and 196 in inner city fences. Dashilan used to be a four-corridor, because the fence of this hutong was well made, preserved for a long time and relatively large, and gradually became the name of this street.
Dashilan is located in the south of Tiananmen Square and west of Qianmen Street, with a total length of 275 meters from the east exit to the west exit. Since Yongle (18) in the Ming Dynasty, it has gradually developed into a commercial street with many shops after more than 500 years of evolution. At present, there are 36 shops in this street 1 1 industry, with an average passenger flow of 15- 16 people and more than 200,000 people on holidays. Beijing Qianmen Dashilan is known to almost everyone in China, and it is also famous internationally, which can be said to be far and near. In history, despite ups and downs, this ancient commercial street has its own unique place because it can withstand more than 580 years of historical storms. There is a jingle in old Beijing called "overpass looks at people, dashilan buys things." "Ma Juyuan on the top of his head, his feet rising in line, and his waist hanging eight auspicious and four constant" are the status and prosperity of Dashilan in his early years.
Now, everything has changed except the noise. After the feudal dross was removed from Dashilan, a commercial street scene appeared. In addition to the century-old Jingsi store, Ruifuxiang store, inline shoe store, Liubiju pickles store and Rong Baozhai Four Treasures of the Study, Tongrentang, Zhang Yiyuan Tea House, Changchun Hall and Yueshengzhai cooked butcher shop have all been upgraded. Many exotic foods have their own characteristics, forming a new food culture.
Here you can buy some traditional and quaint handicrafts, visit interesting century-old shops and feel the old characteristics of Beijing. Of course, don't forget to bargain when you buy something.
Dashilan's time-honored brand
Dashilan area was once the main birthplace of Peking Opera and Xuannan culture, the quintessence of China's art, and the organic blend of literati culture and civilian culture made it have a profound cultural background and dignified historical atmosphere.
Dashilan, which has a history of more than 580 years, has more than 30 century-old stores such as Tongrentang, Inline Rise, Ruifuxiang and Liubiju, and enjoys a good reputation overseas. It has always been the most important traditional business center in Beijing. Since the 1980s, the construction and development of this area has lagged behind, but traditional urban elements such as traditional architecture, urban texture, time-honored commercial brands and folk culture have been basically preserved, which is unique in the central area of Beijing with its uniqueness, integrity and appreciation, and is an important part of Beijing's historical memory and ancient capital style. Dashilan Street, as a bustling commercial downtown area, has many unique and representative old shops.
"Tongrentang Chinese Pharmacy" was opened in the eighth year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1669), and it is famous all over the country for its self-made pills, powders, ointments and pills. Ma Juyuan Hat Shop was established in the 16th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 18 1 1), which was specialized in making hats and satin shoes for the royal family. Later, it was good at making national hats. The "Ruifuxiang Silk and Satin Leather Goods Village", which ranks first among the "Eight Auspicious Events", was founded in the 19th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1893). Besides silk and satin, it also deals in leather products and tea. "Inline Shoe Store" was established in Xianfeng period of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1853), and was specialized in making shoes for royalty and foreign officials. Besides, old brands with decades of history include Nanyufeng Tobacco Shop, Tianhuizhai Snuff Shop, Changhe Houmao Shop, Zhang Yiyuan Tea House and Buyingzhai Shoe Store, all of which enjoy high reputation.
The prosperity of Dashilan lies not only in the commercial development, but also in the relatively concentrated entertainment venues here. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was strictly forbidden to open theaters and other entertainment places in the inner city, so theaters were mostly opened outside the front door.
At that time, there were five famous theaters, such as Qingyuan, Sanqingyuan, Guangde Building, Guangheyuan and Tong Yuan, and Daguanlou Cinema, the first cinema in Beijing, which opened in the early years of the Republic of China. People who live in the inner city often come here to watch night shows, which enhances the lively atmosphere here and promotes the prosperity of Dashilan. Especially in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, every Lantern Festival, Beijingers come here to enjoy lanterns, go shopping and shop, which further strengthens the prosperity of this area.
1900 was burned by the Boxer Rebellion in May, and destroyed by Eight-Nation Alliance in July of the same year, which was once neglected. After a gradual recovery, it soon prospered as before.
After 1949, the people * * * carried out a large-scale adjustment and transformation of Dashilan business district, not only retaining old shops and special commodities, but also opening many state-owned stores and specialty store, such as Dashilan Department Store No.1 and No.2, Qianmen Women's Clothing Store and New Age Children's Goods Store, which made it more prosperous. The original theater has also been further updated to make it have multiple functions.
Since 1980s, it has been transformed year by year, making Dashilan Commercial Street more modern.
