The history of the school can be traced back to Chifeng Normal School founded in 1957. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), Chifeng Teachers College for Nationalities, Chifeng Education College and Chifeng Branch of Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University merged, and some high-quality resources of Chifeng Health School and Inner Mongolia Kindergarten Teachers College merged to form Chifeng College.
