It is rich in content and all-encompassing, ranging from countries to individuals, and many fields can be inspired from it.

Chapter 78 has a very profound enlightenment to education and teaching.

Look at the original text first: the world is not weaker than water, and the strong cannot win, so it is easy. Weakness is better than strength, softness is better than strength, and the world knows everything. So the sage said, "being defiled by the country is to be the master of the country;" The country is unlucky and the world is king. " If it is that opposite.

The following is explained in three levels:

First, the world is not weak, but the strong cannot win. There is nothing weaker than water in the world, but nothing can overcome water to overcome difficulties. Nothing can replace it. I have discussed the wisdom of water in previous chapters. The water here can be compared to the wisdom in our education and the love in education. Education should "sneak into the night with the wind and moisten things silently" like spring rain. We can also use Chapter 8 to understand the wisdom of water: "Good as water. Water is good for all things without dispute, and evil for all, so it is a few words. Live in a good place; Heart, goodness; Harmony and kindness; Words, integrity; Politics, good governance; Things, good energy; Move, be good. Husband is not noisy, and there is nothing special. " Our teacher is like this water, selfless dedication, not seeking fame and fortune. Stay in a place that everyone doesn't like (high pressure and low salary), which is the closest to the Tao. Therefore, we educators should be good at choosing a place to live in, accommodating students and being unfathomable, being good at treating students and parents sincerely, lovingly and selflessly, being good at being honest and trustworthy, being good at straightening out educational and teaching problems, giving full play to their strengths and educating students to seize opportunities. The best teachers do what they do because of their undisputed virtue, so there is no fault or blame. If water has these advantages, we can "get something for nothing" when dealing with the most intense educational problems. On the other hand, those teachers who have a strong sense of responsibility but are impatient and strong sometimes lead to huge educational accidents if they meet strong students and parents. For example, some teachers punish students, some parents complain about teachers, and some students commit suicide by jumping off a building because they can't figure out the strict education of teachers and parents. These are the bad consequences caused by being the only one. Their initial intentions are fine, but the ways and means of doing things are debatable. From this perspective, the wisdom of water (that is, soft wisdom) is very important.

Second, the weak is better than the strong, and the soft is better than the strong. The world knows everything and can't say anything. The enlightenment of this sentence to our education is that we all know many truths in education, such as "love and wisdom are better than coercion and preaching, and slow art is better than quick success", but it is very difficult to do so. This is the "easier said than done" of education!

The third is based on the sage cloud: "the balance of the country is called the master of the country; The country is unlucky and the world is king. " If it is that opposite. The enlightenment of this sentence to education is that there are also many contradictions and opposites in education. On the one hand, we educators enjoy the reputation of engineers of human soul, on the other hand, we shoulder the great responsibility of educating the country, on the other hand, we are also being attacked by incomprehension and even misunderstanding from society, family and other aspects. In this regard, Lao Tzu inspired us to understand all this with contradictory ideas: we are not the king of the world, but the king of our descendants; We are not the masters of the country, but the masters of Class One. So it is inevitable that there will be resentment and illness. We should treat it with the mentality of "opposing well-founded" and regard it as a suggestion and supervision of our work. We should be "kind-hearted" like water, and let it digest and understand slowly with its indisputable mentality. These truths are understood by everyone when we are calm, but they are not easy to do when we are impatient and angry. That's why I lamented that "everything in the world is unknown and omnipotent"!
