Brief introduction of Wanxian tragedy:

The Wanxian Massacre, also known as the "Ninth Five-Year Massacre" in Wanxian County, Sichuan Province (now Wanzhou District, Chongqing). 1On September 5th, 926, British imperialist warships shelled Wanxian County, Sichuan Province, killing 604 soldiers and civilians in China, injuring 398 others, destroying more than 1,000 houses and causing property losses of about 20 million yuan.

1In the second half of 926, the Guangdong National Revolutionary Army of the Northern Expedition made brilliant achievements in the Yangtze River valley and the battlefields in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces, and various imperialist forces, especially British imperialist forces, suffered heavy losses in China. In order to consolidate its power in the Yangtze River valley, the British government stepped up its intervention in the China Revolution.
