Heilongjiang Oriental College was founded in 1958, formerly known as Harbin Normal School. 1993 approved the original second division (normal class) to move westward to Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province and transform it into a higher vocational college at undergraduate level. In the same year, it was renamed Heilongjiang Oriental College. The college is located in Pingfang District of Heilongjiang Province, covering an area of 3,000 mu.
