College counselors are an important part of teachers, the backbone of college students' ideological education, the mentor, guide and intimate friend of college students' healthy growth, and an indispensable force to ensure the healthy development of higher education. Building a high-level team of counselors and enhancing the scientificity and innovation of counselors' work is the key to strengthen and improve the ideological and political education of college students, and it is also an important topic to comprehensively improve the overall effect of ideological and political education. The author believes that college student counselors should strive to achieve "five stresses" in their daily work.

First, pay attention to relying on classes and mass organizations to enhance the vitality of ideological education.

Counselor's work is a science and needs the support of team spirit. Class is the organizational form of college students' team and the main carrier of college students' self-education, self-management and self-service. Counselors must constantly strengthen the team spirit of the class. Attach importance to the construction of class cadres and strengthen the role of class management Committee, league branch, interest group and branch volunteer service team. Fully relying on these class organizations, according to the actual situation of the class, we should carry out class meetings, political learning, democratic life meetings of league branches, class knowledge contests, branch volunteer services, class sports competitions and other political, interesting and effective class collective activities, so that ideological education activities are novel in form and rich in content, and class organizations can truly become the main front for uniting students, organizing students and educating students.

Student associations are an important carrier of campus culture. First of all, counselors should be good at relying on the political and organizational advantages of party organizations in colleges and universities to do a good job in ideological and political education for college students. Most college counselors work in grass-roots party organizations and have long-term direct contact with students. They are very familiar with students' study, life and thoughts, and can deeply understand the ideals and pursuits of college students and find outstanding talents in time. Counselors should make full use of their political advantages and attract a large number of outstanding college students to join the party organization. The process of attracting outstanding college students is the process of counselors' education, unity and contact with college students, and the process of relying on party organizations and student organizations to carry out vivid and effective ideological and political education activities. In this process, many excellent college students will unify their personal values with the needs of the country, realize the sublimation of their ideals and realize their own growth.

Only when students regard counselors as sincere friends and are willing to talk to counselors when they have problems and difficulties can ideological education get good results.

Using the second classroom skillfully to expand the application of ideological education. Counselors should take the initiative to be good teachers and friends of college students, actively organize colorful second-class activities among students according to the characteristics of college students' energy and wide interests, give serious educational content a lively form, and integrate education into campus cultural activities. Employment-oriented, creating all conditions to promote and help students find jobs is the fundamental condition for the development of colleges and universities, and it is also a new job for counselors at this stage. At present, China's modern manufacturing and service industries need high-quality and high-skilled professionals, which challenges the employment of college students. Some students have different degrees of employment pressure, and many students' employment concepts are contrary to the actual needs of the real society. Counselors should carry out employment education, interview knowledge education and workplace psychological education according to the different situations of students, actively provide students with rich employment information, and provide efficient and high-quality employment and entrepreneurship guidance services through multiple channels and in all directions.

Solving students' ideological problems in time is the counselor's deep concern for students. Counselors should find out the students' ideological trends, guide and solve their interpersonal and emotional problems in time, and help them get out of the misunderstanding. Students' practical problems and difficulties plague their thoughts. Five, pay attention to cooperation with all departments of the school, and strengthen the joint efforts of ideological education.
