On slow education
I have been engaged in education for nearly ten years and have always advocated immediate results. I think if I say and do, I should be able to do it. Later, I slowly discovered that this is not education, but teaching, just filling in, just feeding.

Teaching is actually very simple. You speak clearly, as long as others understand. But it is usually the understanding and practice that will make the Monkey King turn over the somersault cloud.

Understanding is one thing, but actual operation is another, which reminds me of my high school days. At that time, physics was very simple for me, and I always felt that I could do it when I did it, but the answer was wrong, so I chose liberal arts later. But it was at that time that I understood that understanding and actual operation were completely different.

So simple teaching can't solve practical problems. In addition to implementation, we must also be proficient, and proficiency cannot be separated from education.

In Shuo Wen Jie Zi, it is said that "education" is to cultivate children and make them better, which means long-term teaching and training according to a certain purpose. Therefore, education is purposeful, targeted and long-term, and needs precision and perseverance.

Education should be goal-oriented, and the length of time is related to the acceptance of the educated. It takes ten years to sharpen a sword and see the bodybuilding posture of athletes, so education is a step-by-step process.

I have only understood this truth in recent years. Two years ago, I met a student Y. She told me that she is staying at home now. I was confused. In my impression, her constitution has always been very good.

The whole story is like this: skipping rope, long jump and running are the sports in the senior high school entrance examination. I practiced skipping well, but I was a little anxious during the long jump, which led to ligament injury. I had an operation and went home to recuperate for a month.

Standing long jump, in my impression, is a very simple action. Just stand there and jump. Will you get hurt? I have always been curious.

Later, I sent my children to participate in physical exercise and met a physical education teacher. He said it is important to warm up before exercise. In order to achieve the ultimate goal, every movement of training should follow a step-by-step process, otherwise it is easy to get hurt. After the activity, practice posture first, then practice skills.

Why not study? Just like Chinese, learn pronunciation first, and then learn words, words, sentences, paragraphs, articles and chapters. If there is no pronunciation foundation, the subsequent learning tasks will be more difficult. Nowadays, children learn pronunciation in kindergarten, and they also learn pronunciation in the first semester of senior one, which takes a long time.

For example, in mathematics, first learn to add and subtract within 20, because in the end all the addition and subtraction operations can be vertically converted into operations within 20 through columns. The same is true for multiplication and division, which can be calculated by vertically converting columns into 99 multiplication tables. Multiplication is forward and division is backward. It takes a whole year to learn addition and subtraction within 20, and so does multiplication and division.

All the languages in the world are interlinked, so are English and Chinese. As long as you learn pronunciation, you can learn words, phrases, sentences, short stories and long stories. It is also a step-by-step process. It is very important to lay the foundation for high-rise buildings.

Practice piano and fingering, practice Chinese characters and strokes ... How difficult is it to play music while practicing fingering? How difficult is it to write a word after practicing strokes? But the practice of fingering and strokes is really a long way to go, and there is no end.

Therefore, education is slow motion, which is different from the so-called fast food culture. Neither fast nor fast, this is disobedience to education and disrespect to the educated. Only slowly but surely can we make a breakthrough in the future.
