How to carve paper? Or how to cut paper?
Paper engraving is to cover the printed pattern on red paper and engrave it with a knife. I. Cutting method

Scissors (also called scissors)

Pierce the paper with scissors, and then cut it from the inside out. When cutting a small hole, you should pay attention to placing the cutting tip in the center of the small hole, and you can drill through the paper by shaking it gently. This is called openness. Then, put the cutting tip into the hole, hold the paper back gently with your left hand, and turn the cutting counterclockwise with your right hand, while cutting, turn it forward. When cutting small parts, use the cutting tip for polishing.

Folding scissors

Scissors are cut from the folds of paper, and when they are unfolded, they produce pairs of opposite patterns. Folding scissors are mostly used to cut symmetrical and repetitive patterns, and can also be used for locally symmetrical patterns. The paper will have a certain thickness after folding, so the folding scissors are generally transported at the root of the cutting mouth (near the cutting axis).

Broken scissors

Scissors cut through the edge line from the outside and enter the predetermined cutting position for cutting. Broken scissors are called "hidden mouth", and the clever arrangement of "hidden mouth" can facilitate cutting and engraving, and it is not easy to see the traces of the break, so as not to destroy the overall effect of the work.

rough machining

Cut out a slender and symmetrical sawtooth pattern to expose animal hair, which is commonly known as "beating" among the people. Shaving requires scissors with flexible shafts. Holding paper in the left hand and carrying scissors in the right hand; When cutting, the cutting tip always moves forward, and the cutting edge moves at a constant speed from left to right, producing a series of fine silk hairs.

Youjian

You Jian is good at cutting curves and internal and external contours. The key of travel scissors lies in the cooperation of left and right hands. When cutting, the paper holder is the main hand, constantly rotating left and right to drive the paper holder to run; Then the shearing machine is opened and closed up and down to convey scissors, such as fish swimming and flowing freely. Step 2 cut with a knife

Hold the knife vertically and cut it from top to bottom. The tip of the knife moves forward in the way of sawing up and down, and a short and straight point blade is cut. The span of the cutter should not be too large, which will cause intermittent lines. This tool is suitable for carving multi-layer paper-cuts, carving fine parts of paper-cuts, especially the ups and downs and intersections of fine parts. Using a cutter can prevent disconnection caused by improper force.

bit

The tip of the knife cuts up and down clockwise along the circular hole line and moves forward, and the left hand holds the paper and rotates once. Punching can also be used.

knife

Hold a knife sideways, such as writing with a pen. When transporting the knife, the wrist should be evenly forced and a smooth incision should be made on the paper. This method is suitable for crisp paper, and the number of layers carved by scraper is less, preferably less than three. Too much is not easy to cut through. The pad used should also have a certain hardness, which is too soft and easy to break with paper.

needle punching

Use an awl or sewing needle to punch a group or series of small pinholes in the paper. This method was first used in traditional pattern paper-cutting, as a stitch hint of embroidery, and then gradually developed into one of the decorative techniques in paper-cutting.

Broken knife

The difference between a broken knife and a cutting knife is that the cutting knife cuts and engraves, and the broken knife only cuts and does not engrave, forming a hidden knife on the paper like the broken knife method. In traditional paper-cutting, the broken knife is often used as a hint of embroidery stitch.

Knocking and chiseling method

Borrowing the method of shadow play production or folk chisel "like money", using different functions and different types of special chisels to knock out different hollow patterns on paper. This method is suitable for batch processing of multi-layer paper-cuts. As for holding a knife, there are two common methods: pen holding and forefinger holding.
