American universities adopt the credit system. Students will get some credits for each successful course. When they get enough credits, they can graduate. As for the number of credits required for graduation, it depends on the regulations of individual institutions, but generally 120 to 140 credits are required.

General education curriculum

Among them, professional courses get 35 to 45 credits, and general education courses need at least 35 to 45 credits.

Learning time

Because of the credit system, there are no certain restrictions on the study time in American universities. Students can get a degree in three or four years or complete a university course in ten years.

Admission application time

Under the influence of the credit system, the time for applying for admission is also flexible. Students who plan to surpass the United States can apply for admission in 1 month, June, July and September, depending on the institution.

American college students distinguish their identities according to the credits they have obtained. Students who enter school for the first time get 24 credits are called freshmen, those who get 25 to 55 credits belong to sophomores, those who get 56 to 89 credits belong to juniors, and those who get more than 90 credits belong to seniors.
