Chongqing Three Gorges University is a national undergraduate college. Founded in 1956, located in Wanzhou, the second largest city in Chongqing. With the construction of the world-famous Three Gorges Project on the Yangtze River, it was approved as an ordinary undergraduate college by the former State Education Commission in March 1994.

Chongqing Three Gorges University is the only multi-disciplinary undergraduate college in the hinterland of the Three Gorges reservoir area.
