What is Chinese?
Chinese, including English and Chinese, is spoken and written. Chinese subjects in Chinese mainland schools are usually called Chinese. In daily life, English and Chinese are not strictly used to refer to spoken and written languages, such as English instructions and Chinese reports. Literally, the word "Chinese" means "the words of yourself and others" (in layman's terms, the language you use when you speak), and "Wen" means "written language" and "written language". The word "China people" refers to their own and others' speech and writing. Chinese is a subject in basic education. Its teaching content is language and culture, and its operating form is also language and culture. Chinese ability is the basis of learning other disciplines and sciences, and it is also an important tool for people to exchange ideas. It is characterized by the unity of instrumentality and humanity. Extended data history: promulgated in late Qing Dynasty 1904, and established as a national liberal arts. Chinese classes are offered in primary schools and middle schools before and after, with classical Chinese as the main teaching material and new literary works as a supplement. After the liberation of the whole country, Mr. Wang once again proposed that "Mandarin" and "Mandarin" should be combined and renamed as "Chinese Language". This proposal was adopted by the education authorities of the North China government and extended to the whole country. Since then, "Chinese" has become a main course in primary and secondary schools, and even extended to other countries. 1950, when compiling and publishing textbooks for primary and secondary schools that are used uniformly throughout the country, the Editorial Bureau of the State Publishing General Administration uniformly named them "Chinese", and made the following explanation in the "Essentials of Editing" of Chinese textbooks for junior high schools (there is a similar expression in primary school textbooks): speaking the language and writing articles. According to language, "language" and "text" are inseparable. Chinese teaching should include listening, speaking, reading and writing. Therefore, this set of textbooks no longer uses the old name of "Chinese" or "Putonghua", but is called "Chinese textbook".
