Charolais cows can get pregnant and calve at 18 months old. Charolais cattle are big, grow fast, have more muscles and less fat, and have well-developed legs and less fat. Charolais cattle have high growth rate, high meat production performance and a lot of lean meat in the early stage, so they are excellent fathers in cross breeding or improving local varieties. Charolais cattle also have rare disease resistance, and have good resistance to bluetongue, hydrocyanic acid poisoning, enterotoxemia and other diseases. But it is very easy to suffer from diarrhea, colds, pneumonia and other diseases.
