Xi University of Architecture and Technology is a comprehensive public university located in Xi, the western city of China, which was founded in 1956. With the deepening of the education system reform, Xi University of Architecture and Technology has gradually become a national key university, and has been included in the "2 1 1" project and the "985" dominant discipline innovation platform construction university. Therefore, it can be answered that Xijian University is a 2 1 1 university.

2 1 1 Project is a higher education development plan initiated by the government of China in 1995, aiming at improving the overall level of higher education in China and developing several world-class universities and a number of high-level universities. Project 2 1 1 refers to three parts: capital construction project, integration and optimization project and characteristic key project. At the initial stage of the project implementation, the 100 key supported universities were first identified.

Later, it was added one after another. At present, a total of 124 universities have received 2 1 1 engineering support, including Xi University of Architecture and Technology. As one of the universities supported by the 2 1 1 project, Xijian University has been guaranteed by the state in terms of funds, teachers and scientific research, which provides a solid foundation for the school to improve discipline construction, improve the quality of education and strengthen international exchanges and cooperation.

At the same time, it is worth mentioning that Xijian University was also included in the "985" university construction plan. The "985" Project is a discipline innovation platform construction plan initiated by China Municipal Government 1998, aiming at building several world-class universities and a number of high-level universities with distinctive disciplines. The "985" plan was implemented in parallel with the 2 1 1 project under the background of the ninth five-year plan of China.
