Henan Police College has four years of undergraduate, three years of junior college and two years of reform students. The college has eight departments, including basic department, social science department, police department and continuing education department, four teaching departments, 14 undergraduate majors and two specialist majors.

1February, 949, the training course for security cadres of the Social Department of the Party Committee of Western Henan was established. Later, it was renamed as the training course for security cadres of the Social Department of the Western Henan District Committee of the Communist Party of China. On April 20 10, it was renamed Henan Police College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. On August 20 12, with the approval of Henan Provincial Public Security Department, Luoyang People's Police School and Kaifeng People's Police School merged into Henan Police College.
