It was renamed Anhui Provincial Institute of Technology and Huainan Institute of Coal Industry. 1955 school was upgraded to Hefei Mining Institute, 1958 was renamed Hefei University of Technology, 197 1 Mining and coalfield geology major moved back to Huainan, and merged with Huainan Coal School to form Huainan Coal Institute.
