The first lesson of 2023, a large-scale public welfare program jointly sponsored by Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Education and the Central Radio and Television General Station, will be broadcast on CCTV- 1 at 8 pm on September, and will be broadcast simultaneously on new media platforms such as CCTV news, CCTV video and learning ability. The first lesson of school is a large-scale public welfare program cooperated by the Ministry of Education and CCTV.
Since 2008, the Ministry of Education has been working closely with CCTV to launch the first lesson at the beginning of the new school year every year. In 2023, the theme of the "First Class" was "Rejuvenating the Powerful Country with Me", and students were led to show all aspects of China's modernization, such as traditional culture, the origin of civilization, ecological civilization, rural revitalization, national defense education, and scientific and technological innovation.
Large public welfare projects
The program invites "August 1st Medal" winners, model of the times, national poverty alleviation model, representatives of the 20th National Congress, astronauts, scientists and cultural scholars. Tell the story of the struggle in the new era from the first perspective of the strugglers, show the great spirit of struggle, and inspire the vast number of young people to be knowledgeable and join the new journey of building a strong country and national rejuvenation.
From the National Pavilion where the treasures of civilization are gathered, to the Aviation Expo which records the struggle history of the People's Air Force, from Wuyishan National Park, a double world heritage, to Zhenjiang Modern Farm in Jiangsu, from the lasso on the roof of the world to China Aerospace in the vast universe. Through the "cloud classroom" mode, we have classes with primary and secondary school students from all over the world, vividly telling the story of China's pursuit of people's happiness, national rejuvenation and world harmony.
