Anhui Vocational and Technical Training Center for the Disabled, the predecessor of Anhui Special Education Technical Secondary School, was established in April 1990, directly under the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation. Its main function is to establish a vocational education and training system for the disabled in the province, carry out vocational education and skills training for the disabled in the province, guide the disabled persons' federations in cities and counties (cities, districts) to carry out vocational education and skills training for the disabled, and publicize and promote Chinese sign language. Since its establishment, the center has always adhered to the "three orientations" to carry out its work. First, for the disabled, more than a dozen specialties such as health massage, Braille computer and arts and crafts have been widely developed, and they have embarked on the road of self-reliance and even wealth. Second, facing the grassroots, the investigation, guidance, inspection and evaluation of vocational training for disabled persons carried out by municipal and county disabled persons' federations have been strengthened. Thirdly, China's general sign language training was carried out for all sectors of society, and more than 6,000 disabled workers and social workers were trained.
