Dalian is an important international shipping center in Northeast Asia, the largest port city and foreign trade port in Northeast China. It has been nearly 70 years since the industrialization started in central and southern Liaoning, and the central urban agglomeration and Shenyang-Dalian urban corridor have been formed under the impetus of industrialization.

Zhongyuan urban agglomeration

With Zhengzhou and Luoyang as the center, there are 9 provinces (cities) including Kaifeng, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo, Xuchang, Pingdingshan, Luohe and Jiyuan. Although Zhengzhou is a rising city, due to its unique traffic advantages, it has been able to catch up and become the center of the Central Plains urban agglomeration. The population density in this area is 665 people /km2, which is one of the highest in China. The city has a strong development momentum and increasingly close economic ties, basically forming a transportation network with Zhengzhou as the center and 1.5 hours access, which has the foundation and conditions for integrated development.

With Wuhan as the center, it also includes Huangshi, Ezhou, Huanggang, Xiantao, Qianjiang, Xiaogan, Xianning, Tianmen, Suizhou, Jingmen, Jingzhou and Xinyang in Henan Province, Jiujiang in Jiangxi Province and Yueyang in Hunan Province, of which 12 is a prefecture-level city and 3 is a county-level city directly under the provincial government. Fuzhou and Xiamen are the centers, including Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, Putian and Ningde. The urban agglomeration on the west side of the Taiwan Strait faces Taiwan Province Province across the sea, which is not only a base for cooperation with Taiwan and promoting peaceful reunification, but also a base for accelerating development through cooperation. Accelerating the construction of the economic zone on the west side of the Taiwan Strait will further promote the close economic ties between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, achieve mutual benefit and win-win, and promote the great cause of reunification of the motherland. In view of the special geographical position on the west side of the Taiwan Strait, the outline of the 11th Five-Year Plan of the country clearly states: "Support the economic development on the west side of the Taiwan Strait and other areas where Taiwanese investment is relatively concentrated". The urban agglomeration on the west side of the Straits is the core area of the Straits Economic Zone. With the support of national policies, urban development and economic cooperation and exchanges with Taiwan will make faster and better progress.

Sichuan-Chongqing urban agglomeration

Chongqing and Chengdu are the centers, including Zigong, Luzhou, Deyang, Mianyang, Suining, Neijiang, Leshan, Nanchong, Meishan, Yibin, Guang 'an, Ya 'an, Ziyang and Sichuan 14 prefecture-level cities and the western Chongqing Economic Corridor. Chongqing is one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government of China. After being directly under the central government, the scale of the city has expanded rapidly, the economic strength has been continuously enhanced, and the radiation to the surrounding areas has also been continuously enhanced. Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, is developing rapidly. In the future, we should continue to improve the transportation system between cities, increase the radiation function of core cities, and further improve the integration degree of urban agglomerations.

Guanzhong urban agglomeration

Xi 'an as the center, including Xianyang, Baoji, Weinan, Tongchuan, Shangzhou and other prefecture-level cities. Guanzhong urban agglomeration is the core area of Shaanxi economy. Nowadays, it has become the only high-tech industrial development zone and Spark Science and Technology Industrial Zone in the western region of China, and it is a comparative advantage region in the northwest and even the western region.

In addition to the above ten urban agglomerations, central Hunan with Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan as the center, central Jilin with Changchun and Jilin as the center, central and northern Heilongjiang with Harbin as the center, Beibu Gulf with Nanning as the center, and the northern slope of Tianshan Mountain with Urumqi as the center are all expected to develop into new large-scale urban agglomerations.
