According to the Notice of Shaoguan Municipal Organization Committee on Printing and Distributing the Implementation Opinions of Shaoguan Municipal People's Government's Institutional Reform Plan (No.49 [2004] of Ji Bian, Shao Shi), the Education Bureau is set up. The Education Bureau is the working department of the Municipal People's Government in charge of the city's education.

Main responsibilities:

(a) to implement the central and provincial policies and laws and regulations on education, formulate normative documents on education, and organize their implementation.

(two) to organize the formulation of educational development plans and annual plans, put forward suggestions on the reform of the educational system, and the direction, focus, structure and speed of educational development, and coordinate and guide the implementation.

(III) In conjunction with the relevant departments, formulate provisions on raising education funds, allocating education funds, investing in education infrastructure and charging education fees, manage municipal education funds, supervise the implementation of county (city, district) education financial allocation, arrange the allocation of relevant education funds in conjunction with finance, and guide the infrastructure work of municipal schools.

(four) comprehensive management of compulsory education, ordinary high school education, preschool education and special education, ethnic education, responsible for promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting education equity, promoting the reform of basic education, and fully implementing quality education.

(five) to guide the school's moral education, intellectual education, physical education, aesthetic education, labor education and national defense education, to be responsible for the construction and management of the school team organizations directly under the municipal government, and to ensure the implementation of quality education and the realization of educational goals.

(six) overall planning, coordination and management of private education at all levels, standardize the order of running private education, and promote the healthy development of private education.

(seven) to guide, supervise and inspect the safety work of schools at all levels.
