China Education Examination Network
English Test Band 4 and Band 6 (CET-4&; CET-6 is a national college English test, which is a national unified single-subject and standardized English teaching test managed by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education of China.
The purpose of this test is to objectively and accurately measure the actual English ability of college students and provide evaluation services for college English teaching.
In terms of content and form, CET-4 and CET-6 will increase the number and proportion of listening comprehension questions, increase the speed reading comprehension test and increase the proportion of non-multiple choice questions. See the composition chart of English 7 10 for the contents, types and proportion of each part of CET-4 and CET-6 in the pilot stage.
CET-6 oral test will still be implemented separately from written test, and CET-SET, which has been implemented for five years, will continue to be adopted. At the same time, the examination committee will actively study and develop computerized oral test, so as to further expand the scale of oral test and promote college oral English teaching.
In terms of examination management, the examination center of the Ministry of Education will launch a new registration and examination management system (pilot) for CET-4 and CET-6 from June 2005, strictly identify candidates' registration qualifications, strengthen examination room organization and examination discipline management, and earnestly do a good job in examination confidentiality. The specific plan will be announced separately by the examination center of the Ministry of Education.
As CET-4 and CET-6 are super-large-scale standardized examinations involving tens of millions of candidates every year, the reform of examination content and form must go through a certain scale of pilot, scientifically demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the new examination paper, and understand the feedback from teachers and students.
Therefore, since June 2006, 1 reformed CET-4 has been tried out among students who participated in the experiment of college English teaching reform, and the new CET-6 has been tried out in the same way since June 2006. Initially, the reformed CET-4 will be fully implemented in June 2007, and the reformed CET-6 will be fully implemented in June 2007. The examination committee will formulate a new syllabus and sample questions for CET-4 and CET-6 according to the teaching requirements, and announce them to teachers and students in time.
