In ancient China, the naturalistic education thought was first put forward by Laozi in the pre-Qin period.

Laozi can be said to be the bud of naturalism.

Later, there was another representative of Taoism, Zhuangzi.

Ji Kang in Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties was the first thinker who systematically expounded naturalism education in China history. The completion of his book "Learning from Nature" marks the birth of China's naturalistic educational thought.
