I. Types of scholarships
Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) scholarships for international students, commonly known as Japanese scholarships. This is the highest scholarship in Japan. There are two ways to apply. One is to apply to the Japanese Embassy in China before going to Japan. Applying for scholarship qualification first, and then applying for a school, is contrary to the application procedure of European and American universities. The other is to apply through Japanese universities after going to Japan. That is, students registered in Japanese universities can apply. So before studying in Japan, you can only apply for a Japanese scholarship through the embassy. Japan calls it a national scholarship recommended by foreign embassies. The application in Japanese universities is called "university recommendation" national scholarship.
National Scholarship Fund Committee. The notice of scholarship application for the second year is published on the website every June165438+1October. Generally, a notice will be issued at the end of this year to apply for next year's scholarship. Accept the application materials in February and March. In addition to Japan, there are scholarship applications from the United States, Canada, France, Germany, southern Europe, northern Europe, eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Of course, most of them are doctoral scholarships. Undergraduate students can get scholarships from Southeast Asian countries and Africa.
The national scholarship recommended by the Embassy is a cooperative exchange project between the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education of China in China. The National Scholarship Fund Committee directly under the Ministry of Education of China is entrusted by the Japanese Embassy in China to enroll students. There are 1 10 places every year. I am a doctoral student in Japan. The qualifications for the examination are all domestic college graduates, master's degree holders, under the age of 35. I studied abroad as an official of China government, and got a scholarship with the qualification of Japanese government scholarship. Tuition is free, borne by the Japanese government, and receives a national scholarship every month.
The scholarships of 985 University and 2 1 1 University funded by Japan have basically signed cooperation agreements with the National Scholarship Committee, so the scholarships for various countries are allocated to universities every year. This university has a special examination department. The first round of brush selection eliminated some of them. It will be sent to the National Scholarship Fund Committee and the Embassy of China for the second round of evaluation.
Second, the scholarship application conditions
There are two ways to become a "Japanese government scholarship student", one is recommended by the university and the other is recommended by the embassy.
University recommendation refers to the international students studying in Japan recommended by Japanese universities to the Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) in the exchange activities between foreign countries (including China) and Japanese universities. Because this way has nothing to do with the embassy, it is a matter between universities in China and Japanese universities, so please consult your school.
Foreign students recommended by the Embassy cannot be directly applied by domestic individuals, and all candidates are selected by the Ministry of Education of China (Asian and African Department of the International Department). So please consult your university or the Ministry of Education first. There are four types of international students recommended by the embassy in China. 1. International students' study (doctoral degree only); 2. Teachers study international students; 3. Japanese students studying Japanese culture; 4. International students in professional schools.
The Japanese Embassy in China entrusts people with special knowledge and experience in studying in Japan as study consultants. Japan International Education Association (AIEJ) is a consortium under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, which provides information (in Japanese and English) about studying in Japan on the Internet, mainly including the organization and career introduction of AIEJ. Overview of Japan's higher education system: brief introduction of Japanese universities (you can link the university home page through the website of AIEJ) and scholarships.
Third, ways to save money by studying in Japan
1, daily necessities
First of all, when starting from China, you can take some things with you. For example, some Japanese yen, personal identification photos, voltage converters, sockets, seals, USB flash drives, toiletries, sewing kits, medicine boxes, spices, umbrellas and so on. For foreign students who are not familiar with the local area, these little things not only avoid the panic in the face of urgent need, but also save a sum of money by the way.
When you arrive in Japan, you can find many other groceries needed for your life in the nearby 100-yuan store. In addition to the hundred-dollar store, you can also look at several supermarkets nearby and compare which goods are relatively cheap.
Clothes and the like can go to some cheap clothing stores, such as Uniqlo and Zara, which are not very expensive in Japan. There are many discounts when changing seasons, and international students who reach 5000 yen in the first half of the year are generally tax-free.
Step 2 prescribe diet
The best way is to cook by yourself. In Japan, almost everyone goes to the supermarket to buy food. When purchasing ingredients, you can save a lot of money by making full use of the discount activities in the supermarket.
Generally speaking, some goods will have a 50% discount when the supermarket just opens; The event will also be held half an hour before closing. Generally, there will be discounts ranging from 10%, 20% and 50%, such as vegetables, fruits, fresh meat and fast food, which are more affordable. Buy two lunches and bread at half price, and breakfast will be left the next morning. Then many shops will give discounts and send coupons on weekends, which can be used to buy rice, oil and salt, which is very cost-effective.
Step 3 rent a house
Although many schools have cheap dormitories, the number of dormitories and the number of students are often not equal, so some students have to go out and rent a house to live. The rent includes rent, water, electricity, gas and sanitation. It adds up to thousands of dollars every month, so if you want to save some living expenses, you'd better choose to share the rent with others, so that the rent and living expenses can be shared equally with your roommates, which can alleviate some economic pressure.
In terms of household appliances, small household appliances (such as rice cookers and microwave ovens) can be bought by themselves, but it is recommended to choose second-hand, which can be bought in local medieval shops or from seniors who are about to graduate.
