Why is it called the global village?
Beijing Global Village Environmental Education Center (hereinafter referred to as Beijing Global Village) was established in 1996, which is a non-profit non-governmental environmental protection organization dedicated to public environmental education. The global village has 15 full-time staff, and thousands of volunteers are officially registered.

■ Starting from 1996 1 month 1, Global Village started the environmental education TV program "Green Civilization and China" on China Education TV Station, and independently organized and produced the TV program "Environmental Protection Time" on CCTV-7 (Science and Technology Children's Agriculture Channel). In April, a social survey on Beijing's garbage problem began to promote the establishment of Beijing's garbage recycling system and citizens' participation in environmental protection.

■ 1999 Establish an ecological experimental field, and send the vegetables produced to some communities, so that residents can really feel the role of garbage recycling; ■ In 2000, the Global Village initiated and organized the China Action for Earth Day 2000-the first joint action of NGOs in China; ■ Launched the "Green Olympics, Green Life, Green Angels" campaign, mobilized 830,000 green angels, and drove 830,000 families to implement the promise of green life, thus establishing the green angel files of these children; ■ Organized the first national collection of environmental protection songs, and collected more than 900 songs; ■ In 2003, activities such as "Environmental Protection Bag Action", "Green Lighting", "Promoting Forest Certification", "Green Life Forum" and "Water for Life, Water for the Future-a series of activities to commemorate Earth Day 2003 in the global village" were held.
