According to the Notice of CPC Yangquan Municipal Committee and Yangquan Municipal People's Government on Printing and Distributing the Institutional Reform Plan of Yangquan Municipal People's Government (Yang Fa [2009] No.29), Yangquan Education Bureau (the Education Working Committee directly under CPC Yangquan City and its joint office) was established as the working department of Yangquan Municipal People's Government.

Main responsibilities:

(a) to formulate strategies, policies and plans for the city's education reform and development, organize the implementation of educational laws, regulations, principles and policies, and organize the implementation of educational administrative law enforcement.

(II) To be responsible for the overall planning and coordinated management of all levels and types of education in the city, formulate the setting standards of all levels and types of schools in conjunction with relevant departments, guide the education and teaching reform of all levels and types of schools, and be responsible for the statistics, analysis and release of basic education information.

(three) responsible for promoting the balanced development of compulsory education and promoting education equity, responsible for the macro guidance and coordination of compulsory education, guiding the work of ordinary high school education, preschool education and special education, and comprehensively implementing quality education.

(four) to guide the city's education supervision work, to be responsible for organizing and guiding the supervision and inspection, evaluation and acceptance of secondary and below education, and to guide the detection of the development level and quality of basic education.

(five) to guide the development and reform of employment-oriented vocational education, and to guide the discipline construction and vocational guidance of secondary vocational education.

(VI) To be responsible for the overall management of education funds in this department, participate in the formulation of education financing, education appropriation and education infrastructure investment policies, make statistics on the investment of education funds in the whole city, supervise the collection and use of education funds in the whole city, and be responsible for the management of education aid and poverty alleviation.

(seven) to guide the ideological and political work, moral education, sports health art education and national defense education in schools at all levels. Guide off-campus education in primary and secondary schools.

(eight) in charge of the work of teachers in the city, to identify the qualifications of teachers, to carry out the evaluation and employment of professional and technical positions in the education system, and to guide the construction of the talent team in the education system.

(nine) responsible for all kinds of entrance examinations and academic management, guiding college students to find jobs and start businesses.

(ten) responsible for the implementation of the principles and policies of the national language and writing work, organize, coordinate, supervise and inspect the standardization of the national language and writing work, and guide and popularize Putonghua and Putonghua teacher training.

(eleven) to guide the work of adult education in the city. To undertake the comprehensive coordination and macro-management of private education in the city, and guide the education of employees, on-the-job training and practical technical training of farmers in conjunction with relevant departments.

(twelve) to undertake the preparation and management of higher education.

(thirteen) to undertake other tasks assigned by the municipal party committee and municipal government.
