The school's predecessor was Bazhong Normal School, Tongjiang Secondary Vocational Health School and Bazhong Technical School, which were founded in 1954 and 1990 respectively. Bazhong Vocational and Technical College was approved in February 20 13, and it is the only full-time institution of higher learning in Bazhong, an old revolutionary area.

The school has established a diversified educational development model for upgrading academic qualifications, and cooperated closely with xihua university, China West Normal University, Southwest Medical University, Sichuan University of Arts and Sciences, Chengdu Medical College, neijiang normal College and other undergraduate colleges, thus building a platform for students to upgrade to undergraduate courses.

The school has reached a joint school-running agreement with well-known European universities, such as Teesside University, Grust University, Chester University, Gunma University in Japan, Gunsan University in Korea, Geller University in Thailand and Indi University in Malaysia. After obtaining the diploma of our college, students can continue their studies in foreign universities, and their academic qualifications are recognized by the state.
