Dafeng City is a silt plain. The terrain is wide in the south and narrow in the north, showing a gourd-shaped irregular triangle. It is 63 kilometers long from north to south and 44 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 2,367 square kilometers. The ground is really 1.9 ~ 4.5 meters high, with a difference of 2.6 meters. Except for the coastal beaches, the topography of the whole city is high in the east (2.8 ~ 3.5m), low in the west (2.4 ~ 2.8), high in the south (3.3 ~ 4.5) and low in the north (1.8 ~ 2.2). There are trough-shaped depressions on both sides of Laodoulong Port in the middle, which are 3 ~ 6 kilometers wide and run through the city from southwest to northeast. The ground is really high, generally between 2.2 and 2.8 meters. The area south of Chuandonggang in the southeast is relatively high, with a ground height of 3.5-4.5.

Dafeng is the hometown of elk. Dafeng Elk National Nature Reserve is the largest elk stocking area in the world and one of the selected 15 eco-tourism scenic spots in China, with more than 1000 elk, accounting for 30% of the world total.

Dafeng is a green ecological home. Dafeng City has successively implemented 74 ecological construction projects, including coastal shelterbelt system and wetland biodiversity protection, and was named as the national ecological construction demonstration city and the national sustainable development experimental zone, and was identified as the "agricultural and rural sustainable development experimental zone" by FAO.

Dafeng is a treasure house of beaches and wetlands. Dafeng coastline 1 12km, and the coastal beach area is 65438+ million hectares. It is the largest tidal flat wetland in Asia and is listed as an important wetland in the world by the United Nations. There are more than 400 families of wild animals and nearly 500 species of coastal plants living on the pristine tidal flat wetland, which is a paradise for all kinds of wild animals and plants to inhabit and multiply.

Dafeng is a new port city. Dafeng Port, a national key project, is located in the middle of Jiangsu coastal coastline and is a central strategic port to fill the blank area of Jiangsu coastal ports. On June 5438+1October 65438+August, 2005, two 10,000-ton berths in the first phase of Dafeng Port were put into trial operation. In 2006, the first-class port was opened, and six 50,000-ton berths started construction at the same time. By 20 10, the annual throughput of Dafeng Port will reach150,000 tons, making it a comprehensive medium-sized commercial port open to the outside world along Jiangsu coast.
