History of No.4 Middle School in Pixian County
The Revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing Dynasty, and an innovative climate appeared in China. Influenced by the wave of advocating new learning at that time, people of insight in Pixian realized that the reason why China was poor and weak was not only the feudal autocracy, but also the long-term feudal education, which failed to cultivate practical talents! If we want to change this situation, the Chinese nation will rise to the forefront of the world, so we must follow the example of the West, set up new schools, learn modern scientific knowledge from the West, and cultivate useful talents. Therefore, in the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), the Wenchang Palace Primary School Hall outside Ximenwai in Pixian County was moved to Nanhua Palace in Xipu, and it was named "the second higher primary school hall in Pixian County", with a schooling of two years. 1922 the old high school was changed to a new academic system (two years in high school and four years in junior high school), and it was named "Pixian No.2 Primary School". At that time, there was only one high school at first, and then a junior high school was added.

1935, the school began to recruit girls, the first batch of six girls, teaching in the same class and studying in different classes.

1940, the national government implemented the new county system, implemented the integration of politics and religion, and the township head served as the principal, so the school was renamed "Xipu No.1 Central Ethnic School in Pixian County".

194 1, changed to "Pixian Xipu No.1 Central Primary School".

1950, after the liberation of the mainland, the people's government took over the school, and the school was renamed as "Xipu No.1 Central Complete Primary School in Pixian County". With the development of 1956 educational form, two junior high school classes with hats began to be recruited, and 1957 continued to recruit two junior high school classes. Fourth, the two-system primary schools have all ended their classes, and all primary schools have been changed to five-year systems.

1958, at the height of the great educational revolution, three junior high school classes were enrolled. So the primary school was merged into Xipu Second Complete Primary School and became a junior high school independently, renamed as "Pixian Xipu Junior High School". The academic system is three years, with one principal. The next issue 1958 was renamed "Pixian Normal School" with a four-year academic system. Without the approval of the superior, the normal school was changed to "No.4 Junior Middle School in Pixian County" in the last issue 1959. 1960 was renamed as "No.4 Junior High School in Hong Guang, Pixian County".

After the Cultural Revolution began, the No.4 Middle School in Pixian County was seriously disturbed, and the school was in chaos, which made it impossible to carry out normal teaching. This chaotic state continued until the end of 1969. In this year, all students went to the countryside (those who did not graduate were issued with certificates of expiration of school age), teachers were transferred to the commune, and the school building was occupied by Xipu Commune Middle School.

During this period, Xipu Commune Middle School was a three-year junior high school composed of junior high schools with caps in streets and brigade primary schools. 1972 started high school, which laid the foundation for the recovery of No.4 middle school.

1973 when the cadres and the masses realized that the abolition of county-run middle schools was not conducive to improving teaching quality, they decided to restore the county-run middle school system. At that time, people from all walks of life also strongly demanded to restore middle schools and improve the quality of teaching. At that time, the high school run by the commune in the county lacked teachers. Yesterday's primary school teacher bravely stepped onto the high school platform today. Some teachers who have only studied junior high school are also forced to go to senior high school. Of course, this kind of high school teaching quality is far from good, and the social reaction is quite strong. So the county leather Committee decided to concentrate on strengthening management and complete it at a fixed point. In this way, the unworthy high schools in various communes were cancelled and concentrated in Tanzhe Temple, Tangchang, Xipu and Ande, and the personnel from the county were transferred to run the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and fifth schools. Use compulsory means to adjust these "easy-to-be-bold" high schools, so that they can live up to their names and get on the right track.

After the plan was determined, Xue, director of the county revolutionary Committee, called relevant personnel and announced the establishment of five leading bodies. Five schools put forward a list of high school teachers transferred from various communes. From February 65438 to February 0973, high schools in each commune class concentrated in five schools for management and education. On the basis of Xipu Commune Middle School, Pixian No.4 Middle School merged the high school classes of two cooperative middle schools in Hong Guang to form a finished middle school named "Pixian Xipu Middle School". The leading group was established, the teaching staff was expanded and strengthened, and the teaching order of the school began to recover. After the downfall of the Gang of Four, it was not until 1978 that the higher authorities officially approved the restoration of the school name of "Pixian No.4 School". During the period of old institutions of higher learning (1913-1922), the ideological trend of stressing democracy and advocating new learning prevailed, but feudal ideology and culture still occupied an important position in the school. The courses offered by the school include Chinese, arithmetic, self-cultivation, history, geography, science, music, fine arts, handicrafts and other courses, as well as four books and five classics. Such a course was already relatively progressive at that time. Graduates not only accept new ideas, but also have a solid foundation in Chinese. Under the guidance of teachers, some students can learn some mathematical knowledge such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, etc., so that they can go directly to the junior college. Most of those who have never been to school go to teach primary schools and become the backbone of primary school teaching.

The curriculum of Pixian No.2 Primary School with the new academic system has not changed much (1940— 1949), but the four books and five classics are no longer selected. After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, under the influence of the thought of saving the country through re-education, the ideological content of resisting Japan and patriotism was strengthened.

During the late Anti-Japanese War and the War of Liberation, people's livelihood was depressed and prices soared due to the gradual decay of the rule of the national title. Students enroll more, graduate less, can't finish their studies, and there is a large turnover of personnel. During this period, the Kuomintang strengthened its reactionary rule, which was manifested in education, that is, it strengthened the curriculum of citizenship and childhood, and education became increasingly reactionary.

In the early days of liberation, a new four-two-system academic system was implemented. Under the guidance of the new democratic education policy, great changes have taken place in the political direction, teaching content and teaching methods of education. Turn the education of semi-feudal colonies into the education of new democracy. Childhood was abolished and citizens took courses and switched to new textbooks. Courses such as political common sense were offered, the education of beating and cursing was abolished, and democratic education was advocated. In teaching methods, we advocate heuristic and oppose injection.

At the same time of teaching reform, teachers should be educated and trained during holidays to improve their ideological consciousness and professional level. In terms of educational methods, it is mainly to learn from the Soviet Union. He has studied the education laws of Kailov, makarenko and Goncharov. At the same time, I also studied Cao Fu's education lecture. Through learning, the quality of teachers has been improved. In addition to teaching seriously, teachers also actively participated in political movements such as grain requisition, land reform and evening school teaching.

The improvement of teachers' quality promotes the improvement of teaching quality, and the school has undergone fundamental changes. After the land reform, farmers have turned over politically and improved economically. Because of the strong teachers and the improvement of teaching quality, more and more people want to study. As a result, the number of students has increased dramatically and the school scale has been expanding.

After 1953, the school gradually entered the education of socialist revolution and socialist construction. Further strengthen the planning and teaching research of school work. The organizational system of the school has been gradually improved, and a teaching and research group has been set up to carry out teaching and research activities on a regular basis, which has further promoted the improvement of teachers' professional level. At the same time, the school established a party branch and strengthened the party's leadership over the school. Trade unions have been established among teaching staff, and advanced organizations such as Young Pioneers and Youth League have been gradually established among students.

After the establishment of No.4 Middle School in Pixian County, students were trained according to the Party's educational policy of "making the educated develop morally, intellectually and physically, and becoming educated laborers with socialist consciousness" and "education must serve proletarian politics and be combined with productive labor". The school system lasts for three years, and junior high school textbooks compiled by the whole country are adopted. Due to the correct educational policy and the efforts of teachers and students, except for a few students who have poor grades in difficult times, their general grades are good, and they are often among the best in the unified examinations in Wenjiang District.
