Generally speaking, site selection can be divided into two categories. First, ground planting; The second is slope planting.
(1) Planting in the planting area: If the soil is loose and the soil layer is deep (the soil layer thickness is below 100 cm), the tree hole size can be length× width× depth =40cm×40cm×40cm.
If the flat soil is hard, it is necessary to dig holes for planting. The size of the tree hole is length× width× depth = 50 cm× 50 cm× 50 cm; Or length × width× depth =60 cm× 60 cm× 60 cm, and the size should not be too large.
(2) Planting on sloping land: Generally speaking, the soil quality of sloping land is relatively worse than that of flat land. So before planting walnut seedlings, you must dig holes in the trees first. There are generally two kinds of sloping fields, one is sloping terraces and the other is sloping fields.
1, sloping terraces, the general tree hole size is length× width× depth = 45cm× 45cm× 45cm. The digging position should be placed near the edge of the terrace weir (the soil layer near the weir is thicker than the soil layer inside).
2. On the slope, the whole fish scale pit can be planted on the same horizontal line. The horizontal area of the fish scale hole is not less than 1 m2, and the highest point of the fish scale edge is not less than 30cm.
Attachment: Walnut seedling planting in special plots
1, planting of walnut seedlings on barren slopes:
(1) For terraced fields with poor soil, the depth of excavation should reach 60 cm. If it is a rock, it is impossible to dig to this depth. Square walls with a length of 1m and a width of 1m should be built with gravel above the ground and then planted with soil.
(2) Sloping land with poor soil layer can be paved with loose soil (stone) at the same horizontal line, and then the fish scale pit can be adjusted for planting.
2. Planting walnut seedlings in concave land (waterlogged land): For concave land (waterlogged land), as long as the waterlogging time does not exceed 3 days and the waterlogging depth does not exceed 20 cm, it can be planted.
Specifically, when the water depth is less than 5 cm or the plot is in a wet state for a long time, one person can put the seedlings on the ground, and the other person can turn up the soil next to it and pile it on the roots to form a cone-shaped mound. Then take the mound as the center, and build a square tree hole with a length and width greater than 1 m. When the depth of accumulated water is more than 5cm, it can be ridged first and then planted like sweet potato.
Second, the planting method of walnut seedlings
When seedlings are planted in pairs, for grafted seedlings,
First: firstly, tear off the plastic film at the grafting place (if the grafting film is not removed, the trunk covered by the film will stop growing, and when the seedlings grow up, they will easily break from here when encountering strong wind), and the grafting place should be above the ground.
Second: First, backfill about 10 cm of good soil. One person put the sapling in the middle of the tree hole, and the other person put the soil in the hole. When the soil is put into the tree hole for 90% of the volume, the seedlings are shaken up and down (to make the soil fully contact with the roots of the seedlings). Finally, the "soil mark" mentioned on the trunk of the sapling (the dividing point between the underground part and the aboveground part) will be 5 cm higher than the ground. Then step on the new soil put into the hole evenly with your feet (be sure to step on it when planting, otherwise the roots will not be in sufficient contact with the soil and bacteria will easily breed in the coming year). When the new soil sinks, the seedlings will sink to the "soil mark" level as high as the ground.
Third, water the trees according to the soil moisture (be sure to water them after planting, even if it rains, otherwise the roots of the soil will not touch at all). After seepage, seal the tree hole with soil until it is flush with the ground, and then step on it.
Fourthly, covering the plastic film for heat preservation and moisture preservation, processing into a square with length × width = 130cm× 130cm, punching a round hole with a diameter of 2cm in the middle, and molding the round hole with saplings.
Plastic film should be spread evenly in the tree tray, with soil buried around it, and the ground in contact with the seedlings in the middle should also be covered with soil to prevent air from entering. As shown in the figure below:
Fifth: finally, we need to paint the tree white to sterilize and keep warm!
A few special cases: First, the "soil print" should be 5-7 cm higher than the ground when planting seedlings in rainy and waterlogged plots in the south. The higher part is buried with "cone" soil. At the same time, heavy rain should be drained, and tree holes should not accumulate water. Secondly, for growers planted in northern and low-temperature areas, anti-freezing measures are needed to make seedlings freeze smoothly. The specific methods are as follows: the seedlings can be wrapped with grass fences and tightly wrapped with films to prevent the seedlings from freezing or bending into the soil. Third, planting in the north in spring, the "soil print" should be 5 cm below the ground level. Increase the drought resistance of saplings.
