These two days are short, fast and informative! In the teacher's words, he condensed his experience of more than ten years into essence and taught it to everyone in two days. This may be the best interpretation of "one minute on stage, ten years off stage"
Looking back carefully at home, I don't seem to have learned anything, but I seem to have a different feeling. Open your notes. One or two sentences above are worth thinking about for a long time. After a deeper review, you find that there is a forest of information behind it. I want to try to know more, but the more I find my weakness, I finally can't pull myself out of a lot of mysterious clouds. It suddenly occurred to me that seeing a mountain is not a mountain, and two days seems like ten years ...
I have to admit that I'm a little shy about product managers. Although I have been engaged in the Internet industry for more than three years, I have mixed with many websites and forums of similar products of 100, where everyone is a product manager and I have found some videos, official WeChat accounts, PPT and books, but I still stay at the origin of "seeing mountains or seeing mountains", and no amount of self-admiration can reach a real climax.
Actually, I've been paying attention to Starting Point College for a long time. At first, I saw some dry goods about the internet on the website where everyone is a product manager, and I had a curious understanding of the "product manager training camp". However, because I was engaged in operation at that time, my understanding of product managers was limited to legends like Zhang Xiaolong and Ma Hua Teng, so I didn't think much at that time.
Later, I happened to be interested in an article about the "Rice Noodle Festival" written by the blues teacher on the Internet, so I began to search the information and articles of the blues teacher, pay attention to his official WeChat account, and occasionally pay attention to his curriculum arrangement at the starting point college, but there was no great practical action.
Until August, I resolutely resigned from the company where I worked for more than two years. Maybe I have entered the so-called three-year confusion period of graduation. The whole person fell into a kind of confusion of "uneasy about the status quo, but I don't know how to change". After resigning, I still didn't relieve myself and went home for two months. I did two things in two months: first, I took a driver's license test; Second, I finally had time to realize my wish to take my parents out for a trip, and then I went back to work in Shenzhen …
In fact, some friends came to me to discuss a dry cleaning O2O project when I was at home for a while, and planned to make a product similar to e-bag washing. Because other friends are in marketing and technology, they want me to help with product planning and copywriting, but I have been doing operation and promotion before, and I don't have a systematic understanding of the whole product development process, so I have to catch ducks on the shelves, refer to the official WeChat account and APP of E-bag to experience and write a user experience draft for their reference.
During the discussion, considering many other factors, the dry cleaning O2O project has not been further refined, but only the attempt and verification of several small partners' entrepreneurial ideas, while the user experience report of e-bag washing is still kept in a cloud note. Looking back, if I had understood the "Nielsen Ten Interaction Principles" and analyzed e-bag washing from it, I would not have written a user experience draft for my friends.
When you want to do something, but don't know how to do it, it is undoubtedly a very painful thing. So from then on, I also tried to know more about product managers, and gradually sprouted the idea of finding a platform to learn to charge. Of course, thanks to a friend's guidance, when you don't know what to do, do what you want to do or study. After resigning, finish two things I've always wanted to do, and then prepare to learn to improve myself.
Although I struggled for a while, I finally made up my mind to pay the class fee (499 yuan) in advance at home. 10 ended and returned to Shenzhen to work in a new company. Now the company is a startup company or an operation manager, but it also often deals with products and designs. Until last week, the company planned to do an activity and needed to develop a new plate. In the process of communicating with product managers and R&D leaders, I became more and more aware of my own shortcomings, especially for the product development process, which is basically zero, and sometimes it is difficult to express my ideas well.
In fact, in the past two days, I have met many friends in different positions from all walks of life, including those who have done R&D, sales and UI design before, kindergarten teachers, entrepreneurs and operators. During the training, I also realized that I had a blank in R&D, so that my previous courses felt a little out of channel. Of course, this is also my ability to learn and improve urgently.
In the evening, I put my diploma in my circle of friends. Someone asked why it wasn't operations manager training. Some people also asked, what have you gained in these two days? Is it worth it? Others asked, am I thinking about transformation? ...
I can't give specific answers to these questions. Let me say two things briefly: Why did you attend the product manager training in Starting Point College? There is a simple reason. I'm a little curious and want to learn the rising posture. What is the effect of participating in the training? Borrowing a friend's words is worthwhile when you think it's worthwhile.
In fact, there are two sentences that I remember deeply these two days: one is what Mr. Blues said, "I will destroy you, and it has nothing to do with you." The industry leader is terrible, and there are more and more "subversives" on the Internet. People's original knowledge and ability can't keep up with the pace of internet changes, so continuous learning and output results are competitive!
The second sentence was said by the team leader Gray. People's choices are causal, and what reasons they choose will have consequences. I chose to participate in the product manager training because time will tell, but I believe that every selection experience has its own meaning. It is better to plant the cause than to rush to the result.
Finally, to borrow a sentence from Mr. Bruce in the book "Product Frontline": "Product managers are not learned, but practiced." Although the training is over, the study is still not over; Although I graduated, it will be another new starting point!
(The above full text is dedicated to all the friends in the training course of SZ 2015114 "Practical Training Camp for Product Managers" in Starting College.
Special thanks to Mr. Lance, the two beautiful class teachers, the monitor, Brother Lei, and the friends in the third group!
