Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College is the first public media college in China, which is established by Hunan Provincial Education Department, Hunan Radio and Television Bureau and Hunan Radio and Television Group, and is headed by Hunan Provincial Education Department. The College cooperates closely with the major media in Hunan Province to train advanced applied professionals for media organizations such as radio, film and television, telecommunications departments, Internet companies, advertising companies, audio-visual companies, animation production companies, game companies, newspapers, magazines, news agencies, publishing houses, etc., and at the same time train much-needed featured talents for other enterprises and institutions. At present, it is one of the main bases for training media talents in China and the cradle of "Radio and Television Xiang Army". The college has complete teaching facilities, excellent experimental equipment and excellent training conditions. In addition to the general book reading system, voice teaching system, audio-visual education system and art teaching facilities, there are also special laboratories for newspaper publishing, radio and television, film and television animation, computer network communication and so on. Outside the school, there are Hunan TV Station, Hunan People's Broadcasting Station, Hunan Economic TV Station, Hunan Education TV Station, Hunan Press and Publication Group, Hunan Daily Group and other media, as well as Hunan Chensan Cartoon Group Co., Ltd., Hunan Education Information Management Center and Hunan Xiaoying Group as training bases for students. In addition, the College is the only IELTS test center in Hunan and the national information technology and application distance training base.

The college has nearly 10,000 full-time students and more than 3,000 adult education students. As the "experimental field" for the reform of colleges and universities in Hunan Province, the College adheres to the media characteristics and the training goal of applied talents, adopts the overlapping teaching system of "professional knowledge+employment skills+entrepreneurial quality", and carries out a series of reforms such as "double certificate system" (graduation certificate and qualification certificate) and school-enterprise joint running. The college adheres to the employment-oriented direction and has its own employment education and promotion network. Education service institutions such as information consultation and employment guidance center for college graduates in Hunan Province are located in Yuhuating Campus of our college. Graduates can get more employment information and opportunities faster, and the employment rate of each graduate is above 90%. The college is located in Changsha, the base camp of "TV Xiang Army" and "Publishing Xiang Army", and has two campuses. Yuhua Campus is located in Yuhua Pavilion, Changsha City, with convenient transportation. It is mainly used as a practice base for students and a window for enrollment and employment. Xingsha Campus, the main teaching area of the college, is located in the national Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, adjacent to Hunan Radio and Television Center and Changsha Window of the World. This is a new intelligent environmental protection campus. The organic combination of Huxiang culture, which is well-known at home and abroad, and modern communication has laid a solid foundation for the development of the college.
