The predecessor of the School of Shipping of Ningbo University was 1986, majoring in ship driving in the Department of Navigation of Zhejiang Fisheries University, and 1987, majoring in marine management in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Zhejiang Fisheries University. 199 1, the major of marine engineering management was separated from the mechanical department of Zhejiang Fisheries University and merged into the management department of navigation. 1994, the major of marine engineering management was separated from the department of navigation and the department of marine engineering was established. 1996 10, Ningbo branch of Zhejiang Fisheries College merged with Ningbo University. In the same year 12, the Department of Navigation and the Department of Marine Engineering of Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Fisheries College merged to form the Maritime College of Ningbo University. In May, 20001year, the ship major of Ningbo Ocean School affiliated to the former State Oceanic Administration was merged into the Shipping College of Ningbo University.
