Up to now, a total of advanced lifeguard training courses 16, wave lifeguard training courses 3, advanced lifesaver training courses 2, national lifeguard training courses 3, national lifesaver referee examination 3, * * * trained more than 0/000 lifeguards, wave lifeguards 156, and advanced lifesaver examiners140. At the same time, lifeguards' training courses at corresponding levels have also been held in various places and sports colleges. More than 20 provinces, cities and relevant units across the country have implemented the registration of junior and intermediate lifeguards. Up to now, * * * has trained nearly 30,000 junior and intermediate lifeguards. Positive progress has been made in life-saving work on water in China, and drowning accidents are on the decline.
Life-saving has always been an important part of military training. In 2000, with the approval of the General Staff, the China People's Liberation Army Life-saving Training Center was formally established in Guangzhou Military Sports Institute.
The PLA Life-saving Training Center is responsible for the training of life-saving backbones and lifeguards of the whole army. At the same time, the only professional life-saving team in China was established to undertake major competition tasks at home and abroad.
