Zhang Mingyong's experience
Zhang Mingyong 1937 was admitted to Wenzhou Middle School. 65438-0942, admitted to the Mathematics Department of Zhejiang University. He is brilliant, especially in mathematics, and won the appreciation of Su and Chen, professors of Zhejiang University. 1948, after graduating from college, he was selected as a teaching assistant by the Mathematics Department of his alma mater, Zhejiang University.

Under the guidance of Professor Su and Professor Chen, Zhang Mingyong made remarkable achievements when he was a teaching assistant in the Department of Mathematics of Zhejiang University. 1950, his paper on the geometric definition of mean curvature of subspaces of Fenn space came out, which became the only document on this issue at that time. 1955, one of his research achievements in functionalism was named "Zhang Mingyong Constant" and was included in the functional teaching syllabus approved by the Ministry of Education. He studied multifunctional analysis, and his research results were valued by the international mathematics community. His series of achievements in the theory of multiple harmonic potentials and multiple harmonic tensors were highly praised by the World Mathematical Congress held in Romania. After his paper "A covering theorem in convex regions" was published in German, the American Mathematical Review reprinted it immediately. He also wrote the first lecture on functional potential theory. Of the six papers cited by China mathematicians in the famous German GMN series volume 10 1, two are from Zhang Mingyong. In the mid-1950s, the glory of the Mathematics Department of Xiamen University was closely related to him.

From 65438 to 0948, Zhang Mingyong graduated from University. At that time, there were two teaching assistants in the Mathematics Department of Zhejiang University: He and Gu Chaohao. After liberation, he was sent to take over Yingshi University in Jinhua, Zhejiang. During the adjustment of departments, the Mathematics Department of Zhejiang University was dissolved and he was assigned to Xiamen University. In the first five years in Xiamen, Zhang Mingyong published 65,438+00 papers. During this period, he made important achievements in multiple harmonic functions, multiple harmonic potentials and multiple harmonic tensor fields. In particular, Zhang Mingyong published a paper in 1955. The Bloch-type constant Tρ of a convex image obtained in this paper was later called "Zhang Mingyong's constant" and was listed as one of the teaching programs of functional theory approved by the Ministry of Education 1980. This is the only project named after a mathematician from China in the syllabus.

During this period, he also extended the Morse topological method of mapping in the plane region to Riemannian surfaces, further perfecting the superior results of Ahlfors' extension of Schwarz lemma to Riemannian surfaces. From 1952 to 1957, the Department of Mathematics of Xiamen University has indeed trained a number of high-level graduates, such as Chen Jingrun, Lai Wancai and Lin Qun. Chen worked as a teaching assistant in Zhang Mingyong after graduation. As a newly established department, this achievement is commendable. From 1955 to 1957, the Department of Mathematics of Xiamen University has been praised by the Ministry of Education for many times. The International Congress of Mathematicians sent a letter inviting them to attend 1958 Edinburgh Congress (due to "anti-rightism", they could not attend). 1980, Mathematical Yearbook was founded, with Zhang Mingyong as editorial board member. 198 1 Initiate mathematical research and criticism, with Zhang Mingyong as the deputy editor. 1983 Participated in the general meeting of the National Mathematical Society and was elected as a director. At the meeting, he reported the article Riemann Surfaces with Substantial Maxima, and gave the necessary and sufficient conditions for Riemann Surfaces to be Substantial Maxima. 1956, Zhang Mingyong attended the paper report meeting held by chinese mathematical society in Beijing. Later 1960, he was no longer allowed to attend the National Mathematical Society Conference. Only later did he attend the national mathematics conference. But 27 years have passed. Unexpectedly, two years later, when chinese mathematical society held a conference and board meeting in Shanghai, he could not attend again. At that time, he was lying in a hospital in Shanghai with terminal cancer. 1986 12 In the early morning of May, Zhang Mingyong died in Xiamen University Hospital.
