Definition of English in English Papers
English has absorbed many Chinese loanwords in its development. With the further improvement of China's international status, Chinese loanwords may eventually develop into English words in China. China English is a variety of English used by people who grew up in the social and cultural background of China to communicate in a specific language environment, with standardized English as the core. It is influenced by China culture and China thinking. China English has its own characteristics in many aspects. On the basis of scholars' research, combined with their own thinking and summary, this paper analyzes China English from four aspects: the basis of existence, the definition of concepts, language characteristics and development prospects. The first person who defined China English was Wang Rongpei. 199 1 in his article China English is an objective existence, he defined China English as "English spoken by China people in China, with standard English as the core and China characteristics". From 65438 to 0993, Li Wenzhong gave China English a new definition in China English and Chinglish. In his view, in the past, China English was understood as a vocabulary to express the unique things in China, "although it revealed the main composition of China English, it was too narrow", while Wang Rongpei's definition of China English was "stricter and more general, but too broad".

During 1995, two scholars, Zhang Peicheng and Xie Zijun, wrote articles one after another, dispassionately questioning China English. Zhang Peicheng believes that both Wang Wen and Wen Li "neglected an important aspect of their views on China English-the relationship between the purpose of use and national varieties, which led to some gaps in their conclusions". Zhang Wen pointed out that China English is not an institutionalized "national variety", but a "variety as a foreign language" or "performance variety". Www.bfblw.com graduated from Papermaking Network. Not long after, Jia Hexiang (1997: 1 1) also defined China English: China English is "an English variety used by China people with standard English as its core, which has the characteristics of China that are necessary or beneficial for spreading China culture". Obviously, this definition is Wang Rongpei's revision of China's English definition. Although it is extended to the category of "used by Chinese speakers", there are still omissions. The China characteristics of China English can be regarded as the reflection of the unique culture and way of thinking of the Chinese nation in the use of English. However, a certain way of thinking can be deposited without the original language carrier, which will affect a person's use of other languages. Take Chinese American writers as an example. Their works have obvious "Chinese flavor". In fact, many people don't understand Chinese at all. Therefore, it is impossible to explain the phenomenon that China language is understood as "a language variety used by China people".

It seems that any definition is debatable from different angles. Although we can't define China English accurately, we can know its characteristics in several aspects: first, it must conform to the general grammatical rules of English and be understood and accepted by native English speakers; Secondly, it conveys China's unique culture and way of thinking. Thirdly, it is used to express something with China characteristics in international communication. Finally, it has phonetic, lexical, syntactic and textual features.
